Indeed, there are Thallain Eshu, and there are also Noble eshu; however, that's of less interest than the different types of eshu.
Stereotyped as Northern African and middle-eastern folk, the Eshu are far more diverse than this. There are Scandinavian eshu, Icelandic Eshu, Aboriginal Eshu, Celtic Eshu and more.
Any nationality know for wandering adventurers, such as Vikings or Polynesian explorers may be eshu, and not necessarily dark skinned. Viking eshu may even share a strong affinity with trolls, much as Aboriginal eshu might identify with native American fae.
There have been several very important Eshu figures in the history of Firnost Freehold, the most important being Grigori Ivanovich Firnost, the founding father of the Freehold. Also, we have the illustrious Percy King, the last freeholder before the change to parliamentary rule. Next in line falls the loquacious Faled El'Ahib, the eshu representative who proposed the laws for conduct of the in-one-term, out-the-next Kith Protectorate.
Obviously the eshu have been of great importance to Firnost, despite their somewhat nomadic trait. There have been many other eshu to pass through the freehold though; Harper, November, other members of the King family and many more.
The eshu are not all sweetness and light though, conspiracies have been know to follow these wanderers into Firnost, and they are not exempt from the many bannings - permanent or otherwise - that have occurred. Amarta King was one of these, banned for her abuse of her Eshu Protector role.
More recently there has been the Eshu known as Dia Chezed. Not particularly popular with the other representatives, she abdicated from her role part way through a term, claiming the banality of being tied to one place was more than she could handle. However, she still ran in the following election despite her claims, so perhaps there was more to the matter than meets the eye.
And the eshu continue to drift haphazardly in and out of the freehold with the classic wanderlust that personifies the kith, bringing tales, trouble and triumph for the other denizens of Firnost Freehold.
