They could save yours or your families lives !!
Smoke Alarms. Why hasn't every house got them installed. All too often Firefighters attend house fires where there are no smoke alarms installed. For the price of a packet of cigarettes or half a carton of beer, you can buy a smoke alarm for the house. They start at around $10. and are the only thing you can rely on to help alert you of a fire at night.

Many people beleive they will wake up at night if there is a fire in their house.
"Nothing could be further from the truth"

The Carbon Monoxide and other poisonious gases which are in smoke will actually put you into a deeper sleep so you WILL NOT wake up to the smell of smoke at night.

"A SMOKE ALARM IS YOUR BEST CHANCE".

A smoke alarm will alert you that there is a fire in your house by detecting the smoke in the fire's early stage and sounding an alarm.
Idealy you should have more than one smoke alarm for the average size home. Smoke Alarms you are going to purchase should meet Australian Standards requirements. Ensure you read the manufacturers pamphet for advice on positioning the alarms in your house and any special maintenance required.
Once you've installed the smoke alarms it does not end there. You must test the alarms regulary to ensuring they are still operative. Clean them with the vacuum cleaning using the soft brissel brush, and change the battery annually.
This may seem like a lot of work to do, BUT, it could save yours and your family's lives.

Isn't that worth the effort
