Data Section

This is the section where you keep all the information you have gathered so far.

Clues give you an idea of the active agents, but it is not enough evidence to arrest them.

Suspects show you what you really know and can prove about them.  I might include a picture and the list of messages or meetings you know he had.

Inside information shows you the special documents you came upon while searching the floor safes of their buildings.  It can include the master plan which shows the picture of everyone involved in the plot or a list of active members in the organization.  The mastermind is careful enough not to appear in those documents.

News Bulletins shows you some of the infractions that were committed, like blueprints that were stolen or a person being kidnapped.

Organizations shows you the allied, the associates and the know location of agents in this organization.

Cities shows you the know locations of agents in this city

Activity reports shows you which organizations and cities you stumbled upon while searching for evidences.

Photos will be 100x100 jpg files like these:

Send me any photos you would like to be part of the game.  If there are more than one photo of the same person, a different photo will be used for the suspect, the associated clue and the one shown when watching a building.

Done:

  • Plot files can be read. They lists the persons implicated in the plot and a list of events.

Left to do:

  • A web-like interface for the data section with hyperlinks to go from one section to another.  That window will be accessible at all time.  When searching a house or tapping phone lines, you would not get interrupted when you find something.  Instead, you would see the sections with new information highlighted in the data section window until you look at them.
  • Since I want to prevent interruptions while searching a house or tapping phone lines, you will see the names you stumbled upon in the activity reports.  When tapping phone lines, you could get those little windows pop up, but they would not cover the electronic circuit, so you could prepare where to put the next chip while taking your time since the countdown was stopped while those windows showed up.
  • Agenda files: The mastermind seems to have a secret agenda that requires many plots to succeed and there is a certain dependencies between those plots.

It will be possible to create your own customized plots and agendas.  Players will be able to exchange them for increased replayability.

Plot File Format:

Roles:

  • Roles: The roles of the criminal
  • Organization: Specify the relation of the criminal compared to the mastermind.
  • City: Specify new to randomly select a new city or the name of a role previous defined to have this criminal in the same city.
  • Rank: Here are the valid ranks, with the number of point they are worth when arresting them.
    • Mastermind: 200
    • Group Leader: 50
    • Special Agent: 40
    • Organizer: 35
    • Agent: 30
    • Technician: 25
    • Operative: 20
  • Clue: A short name for the clue. Masterminds do not have associated clues.  To generate a random number, use %noX%, where X is the number of digits.
  • Clue description: A description of the clue.  %clue% will be replaced by the clue.

Events: Every event has 3 lines.  The first one gives most of the information.  The second line is the message, conversation or news bulletin.  The third line must be empty for easier readability.

  • Event number
  • Type: Message, meeting or news
  • Sender: Role of the sender.
  • Receiver: Role of the receiver or none for news.
  • Dependencies: Event numbers of the events that must have succeeded before this event is done.  Multiple events must be separated by +.
  • Sender objects: Objects the sender will gain or lose.  When gaining an object, put a + before the object name.  Use a - before the object name when losing an object.
  • Receiver objects: Similar to the sender objects, but for the receiver.
  • Points: The number of points this infraction is worth if it happens.  The total amount of points for all events must be 400.  One of the last event which is worth points in a meeting with the mastermind to give him an object or a message telling it went according to plan.

The tags %sendercity%, %receivercity%, %senderorg% and %receiverorg% will be replaced by the city or organization of the sender or the receiver.  %randomname% will be replaced by a name chosen at random.  This can be used for kidnapping so the name of the kidnapped person is different every time we play that specific plot.

Success:

  • First line: What the CIA director will tell you if you succeed in preventing the plot.
  • Second line: What the CIA director will say at the next briefing if the mastermind is not caught.
  • Third line: What the CIA director will say if the mastermind is caught.

Failure:

  • First line: What the CIA director will tell you if you fail to preventing the plot.
  • Second line: What the CIA director will say at the next briefing.

The tag %name% will be replaced by your name, as you entered it when you created a new agent.  Leave the next briefing lines empty for the ultimate plot of an agenda (see below).

Well done, %name%, that plutonium could have been dangerous in the wrong hands.
We have indications that the natives are on the move. They are certainly not going to stay idle after their failed attempt at getting plutonium.
Excellent work %name%! Not only did you foil their plans to obtain plutonium, but you got the mastermind! The world is safer now that this guy is behind bars!
[Failure]
%name%, while you were impersonating a secret agent, they succeeded in stealing some plutonium! Do you have any idea what they could be doing with this?!
