Turning
downwind the sea mamals returned to revel in our
increased speed and bow wave. Earlier in the
night they had arrived and shooting through the
water had lit up beautiful luminescent trails in
the water.
The first of
several spinnaker peels as wind strength changed
requiring either the 0.5 or 0.75 oz weight kite.
Here Ash is taking the clew of the
new kite up to the pole end before preparing to
release the old kite from the spinnaker guy.
All very complicated and
you're not getting me up there in a hurry!
Up goes the
new spinnaker inside the old. Both these shots
were taken from the fore hatch where the author
was 'sewering'. Similar to it's namesake, if you
get it wrong you can end up very wet and in a lot
of s*ht.
