Roxanne's New Orleans Page!
New Orleans is near and dear to my heart. There are 3 cities that fell in love with. One was obviously Chicago, one other San Francisco and of course, New Orleans, Louisiana (affedtionatly acronymed, NOLA). I took my first "girl trip" there, I fell in love there... all in all a pretty good city to me. So during my multiple trips down to NOLA, I got to know a few really great places.
First, the Garden District and the Uptown/University district. The great thing about New Orleans is the fact that it's really small. Getting around town is pretty easy, and once you're out, you're either in swamp land or a nice suburb. But even though it's small, it's jam packed full!  It's got history, it's got culture, it's got music, it's got art... and don't even get me started on the food!

Everyone has their own take on New Orleans. Many people like the party glitz and glitter. Personally, I like places off the beaten path. Food places I like? Petunia's (awesome breakfasts), The Napolean House, Felix's (only for their oysters), Cafe Du Monde (only because you have to), Cafe Maspero, Charlie's Steakhouse (I wonder if it's still there?), Igor's on St. Charles (basic bar fare but really good burgers when you're tired and hungover.)

Small places I've been meaning to go but just haven't had a chance yet:
Cooter Brown's, Dooky Chase, F&M's, Magazine Sandwhich shop,Tujages, Uglesich's (try to prounouce those, will ya?)

A little more upscale? Mr. B's Bistro, NOLA's, Emeril's, Mulate's, Restaurant, Snug Harbor, Pascale's Manale

Notable places? Mid-City Rock & Bowl, Tipitina's

There are many, many more places, but can't think of all of them. It's been a while, so I guess this just means I have to go back!
