How we met: |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Doyle & I met during a trip to Mardi Gras, New Orleans with my friends, Traci & Sarah in 1995. It just started out as a wild trip with the girls to "The greatest party on earth!" Little did I know that I'd find the man I'd spend the rest of my life with! |

It took us about 6 months of commuting, long distance phone calls and and frequent flyer miles for us to decide to move in together. It was hard to decide which city to chose from, but aside from flipping a coin, Doyle suggested to move up to Chicago with me. |

A Little about Doyle: |

Doyle's pretty much been all over the country and then some. He was born in New Mexico, did a lot of growing up in Washington D.C. and then Wyoming. He's lived in Texas and Southern California, ridden a bicycle from Texas to Colorado, was in the Navy and has been overseas, drove a motorcycle from Los Angeles to Arizona and by the time I met him, he was in New Orleans. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
He was a commercial diver while in Louisiana. I joked that he was like a frog jumping in and out of the water with his job. From that point on, I started calling him my frog and ever since, we've started collecting frogs. We've got them all around the house from stuffed beanies and figurines, to candles and jewelry! In fact, if you take a look, our wedding invitation had frogs in it, too! |

FYI, I got the dancing Calvin & Hobbs from ARToday.com |

I did most of my growing up in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. Just your typical suburban life but I knew I'd always wanted to travel. My parents moved out to Southern California and I along with them just after high school. |

After some time, I came back to Chicago and still had the "wanderlust bug". I've done some traveling in my lifetime. I've been to the Philippines when I was 7, took trips up to Canada and over to California to visit family, been to Sweden & Norway for a High School Choral trip and to Mexico for another school trip. But now, I had to arrange my own traveling... usually through vacations. I'd done the typical Mt. Rushmore, Florida Keys, and of course, Disneyland when I visited my folks. When trying to put together a cruise trip with the girls from work, that fell through and it turned into a party to Mardi Gras! As they say, the rest is history. (Or would you call that "Her-story"? Hee Hee!) |

On another note, I currently work as an administrative assistant and I also collect Longaberger Baskets. (How domestic!) Better yet, I'm also a Longaberger consultant! If you don't know what Longaberger is, click here for their website. |
