| Week 12 | ||||||||||||||
| Here's this week's crystal ball... Lock of the Week: (10-1) The Raiders over the Cards @ AZ The Panthers came through for me...(or should I say the Buccaneers came through for me?)...in any event the Flaming Thumbtacks remain as the only squat-drops on my record. This week is really easy! The Cards couldn't stop a team that was led by an QB with a broken ankle. What makes you think they can slow down the Raiduhs? Richie G. will dismantle what the Cards call their defense. The Cards will have little luck running on the revamped Raiduh D and the Cards have no receivers that want the damned ball! Upset Special of the Week: (5-6) The Chiefs @ Seattle The Flaming Thumbtacks may work their way outta the doghouse if they keep winning games for me. For the record, I called the Viking win over the Pack (and you know it!!!)...I just couldn't pick the Packers to lose three weeks in a row. Have you ever spent a day at the shore trying to enjoy your boardwalk fries in the midday sun...only to be constantly harrassed by those damn seagulls? The Chiefs will see just how annoying those seabastards can be this week as they play less than admirable hosts. The Chiefs have been a real disappointment the past two weeks offensively, scoring in the mid-teens against the Niners and Bills. Tip of the Week: The Eagles WILL Soar! Koy Detmer knows the system and the end of the schedule is weak after games with the 49ers and the Rams. Don't be surprised to see the Birds pull the upset next Monday in Frisco either. There are lots of veterans on this team and the team has been winning with the run anyway. Don't jump off the bandwagon yet - the only threat is the Giants who play nobody the rest of the way. The Giants, however, play down to their opponent's level. Game to Stay Away From: Green Bay @ Tampa Bay Tampa's hot. Green Bay is embarrassed by their play last week in Minnesota. Don't expect a lot of scoring. Brett and Warren gettin cozy in the Florida sun! Player(s) to Watch: Tim Couch, QB, Cleveland He'll have to play well in New Orleans. The Saints can put up points. Their defense, however, is susceptible to the pass. Expect a big day from the Brownies quarterback! Mike Alstott, RB, Tampa Bay The #1 objective will be to keep Brett and the boys on the sidelines. Mike will be used to wear down a depleted defense in the heat of the Florida sun. Any and all Raiduhs. Tiki Barber, RB, NY Giants They're a game behind the Eagles in the division and can smell blood. McNabb is out and the G-Men play the expansion Texans. Fassell will continue to call the plays this week and he'll call Tiki's number on more than one occasion! |
