Week 9
Lock of the Week:    7-1 (record to date)

The Eagles (-6.5) @ the Bears

The Lock is supposed to be easy, right?  So, the Bucs over the Panthers by a score of 12-9 was a little too close.  This week I'm going with my hometown Eagles.  Donovan McNabb and the Birds devoured Da Bears last year in the playoffs...and that's when the Bears were good.  The Bears suck now - and it will show on Sunday!  The starting QB for Da Bears (insert stiff here) will not finish the game...and it won't be because of poor performance.

Upset Special of the Week:    4-4 (record to date)

The Dolphins (+3.5) @ the Packers

Those damn Bengals gave their first win of the season away last week and cost me an Upset Special victory!  First the Flaming Thumbtacks spot them a 14 point lead.  Then Corey Dillon's lead blocker on a fourth and goal play falls down in the running lane - tripping Dillon shy of the goalline.  A trip that prevented the tie with time running out.  Those Damn Bengals.  This week look for my Fish to go into Lambeau and ice the Pack.  They'll shut down Ahman and dare Favre to beat them.  Sounds like a bad strategy to me - but it just might work!

Tip of the Week:   The Indianapolis Colts are pretenders

They're nothing if the Edge can't run the football.  Manning gets exposed as badly as their defense does on a regular basis.  It'd be time to put the ponies out to pasture for 2002 if it weren't for their cake schedule.  They'll barely make the playoffs...then get embarrassed in the first round.

Game to Stay Away From:    New England at Buffalo

Can the Patsies lose 5 straight?  Can the Patsies stop Drew and Crew?  My guess is a very competitive game with few points scored.  What?  Drew and Crew putting up few points?  16-13.

Player(s) to Watch:

Donovan McNabb, QB, Philadelphia
He's heading home to Chicago to face a team they demoralized in the playoffs a year ago.  He's coming off 100 yard rushing games 2 of the last 3 weeks.  Everyone in the City of Brotherly has been begging this guy to tuck it once in a while rather than chuck it.  For once, these fans were right!  He looks more like Ricky Williams of late than Donovan McNabb!  That's what these fans wanted anyway.

Marshall Faulk, RB, St Louis
He's had a week of rest following a 4-TD performance.  And, he facing a team that was crushed last week.  He'll bring the Cards even closer to earth and closer to the basement they have called home for a lot of years.

LaDanian Tomlinson, RB, San Diego
The Chargers are hosting the Jets.  What else do I have to say?

Plaxico Burress, WR, Pittsburgh
He was posting career day type of numbers (5-55, 2 TDs) when he was ejected in the first half of last week's game.  The real Plaxico is emerging - watch and have fun.  Besides, he's apparently become good friend with Tommy Maddox.
