| Lock of the Week: The Bucs (-7) @ home vs. the Brownies It's time to be a man! It's time to pick a lock that doesn't include somebody laying it to the Bengals! So, I'm going with someone laying it to the Brownies this week! The Buccaneers, in fact! The Bucs will rape and pillage the Brownies this week - led by a couple of Johnsons! The Brownies defense, once believed to be their strength, has been suspect this year. And, the QB is probably happy this game is on the road - the fans booing him won't be his beloved Dawg Pound! There will be no Kelly Holcombe to try to bail them out in the 4th quarter either. Oh yeah, and those Bucs are pretty damn "give me the ball" good too! Upset Special of the Week: The Rams (+7) @ home vs. the Raiders Three losses in a row in this category...unbelievable! How's this for an upset - the Rams will win this week. Not only will they win, but they'll beat the only remaining undefeated team in the league - thuh Raiduhs! Charlie has a pulled hammy and probably won't play. Not to mention, the officials may finally call a clip on one of those long defensive scores thuh Raiduhs have been apt to score of late. I think the Rams speed on the offensive and defensive side of the ball may be a little too much for the aged Raiduhs to keep up with for four quarters. Call it a hunch. Game to Stay Away From: Miami @ Denver I ain't touching this one. Denver dominated the Fish in Miami last year for three and a half quarters...then the Fish stopped swimming upstream and went with the tide to pull a come-from-behind win late. This year Miami boasts a pretty good running game - Denver boasts a pretty good defense...Denver boasts a pretty good running game - Miami boasts a pretty good defense. Watch the QBs be forced to throw the ball all over the field in a game decided by one of the league's best kickers - I just don't know if it will be Mare or Elam. Player(s) to Watch: All of the Bills. The buffaloes will stampede into Houston and take the expansion Texans by force if they have to. Bledsoe the Lead Buffalo will throw for another 400+ yards as he eyes Marino's single season passing yardage record. The Texans are talented, but can't post the 50 points necessary to stay with Buffalo! Joey Harrington, QB, Detroit. The Vikings have had two weeks to lick their wounds and wonder if their star wide receiver will be able to join them in another game this year. Randy hasn't looked like the only Viking that's been shackled either. Detroit likes to air it out and they'll do just that this week against a weak defensive secondary. Watch all those fantasy leaguers lineup to grab Harrington on the free agent line. Don't join in folks - it's fool's gold! Ahman Green, RB, Green Bay. Did you see Brett Favre shred the Bears in the first half on Monday Night? Belichick did. He'll have eight men outside the box to start the game and Ahman will say Amen! He'll be in the secondary before anyone touches him most of the day. Bill just doesn't seem to have the defensive answers this year. Could it be that all those bargain basement free agents he signed last year are a year older and a step slower this year? That's all from Clarkie! |
