Custom-written softwares

Custom-written softwares are software which is written by a programmer according to the requirements of the company.

 

Advantages of custom-written softwares:

1.     They are just what the company required.

2.     They are made according to the demand of the company so it is easier to process the data.

 

Disadvantages of custom-written softwares:

1.     They are very expensive as hiring a programmer to create software is very costly.

2.     Users need to be trained before using the new software.

 

 

Off-the-shelf softwares

Off-the-shelf softwares are software which can be obtained from any company which sells software. They are normally user-friendly which can be easily used by anyone who purchases them without much training.

 

Advantages of off-the-shelf softwares:

1.     They are cheaper compared to custom-written software.

2.     They are easy to use and do not require training as they are user-friendly.

 

Disadvantages of off-the-shelf softwares:

1.     They are not to the requirements of the company.

2.     Some data are not able to be processed due to the format of the specific data may be unrecognized by the software.
