·       Definition of custom-written software and off-the-shelf software packages, and discuss the advantages and disadvantages of each;

 

·       The features of common applications found in business, commercial and industrial applications: e.g. stock control, order processing, payroll, process control, point of sale systems, marketing, computer aided design (CAD), computer aided manufacture (CAM);
