When we released ourselves from the Absolute into the universe to experience and to feel, a series of divisions took place. What was originally "One Soul" divided into groups of souls and the groups eventually divided into races and families of souls and these divided into even smaller groups until it reached a point where individual souls existed. At that point the most agonizing division took place... the separation of the male and female essence into two half same soul and each individual soul (me, you, etc.) only has one twin or opposite in all the universe. Within the smaller soul groups are individuals you know extremely well and have had intimate relationships with them for a very, very long time. In this life they could be your wife, husband, lover, mother, father, sister, brother, dearest friend(s), etc. These kinds of intimate couplings are referred to as soul mates unions. Keep in mind that your twin can also be a sibling, dearest friend, etc. Or your twin may be your guardian angel during this lifetime.It all depends upon the plan you've chosen this time around. When it comes to male-female romantic relationships they can be of the twin soul type or they can be at the level of soul mate. In either case, the quality and intensity of relationship that can grow and evolve from these unions, however long they last, can be very profound, fulfilling and absolutely glorious or they can result in separation. It all depends on what each couple choose for themselves. None of these experiences are accidental. All of them serve a greater purpose. Each and every one of them occurs for our spiritual growth and development. Most importantly, they continuously remind us who we really are. Then, having remembered that, we can decide who we really want to be. So whether you are having a twin soul or soul mate relationship honor it for what it is. You are together for a reason. Both can be very profound and sacred experiences.

There are three different kinds of male-female relationships that are possible ..."Karmic" soulmates are two individuals who have come together during a given lifetime to heal something from a past life or previous lives. Their relationship with one another can be very profound and very loving, or it can deteriorate into the same negative situation that was originally created and does not last as long as they hoped for. Or the karma they have come together to heal may only be partially resolved leaving both with more work to do during their current (or some future) life together. All the negative karma we’ve incurred during any of our lives will eventually be healed through decisions that are based upon unconditional love and forgiveness. This will happen not because we are forced to do so as a form of punishment. Rather, our choices to bring healing will be based upon free will which we and we alone will want to make. This is what the universal law of karma is about. We will have as many lifetimes as we need to eventually "right" all we have previously caused others to feel through fear, anger, hatred, bitterness, jealousy, etc. over many of the relationships we've already had in the past (and are having during this life time). Not all of these need be male-female in nature. For example, if you incurred some negative karma with a wife during a previous life, that karma may be healed in the future with the two individuals being sisters during a given lifetime.

The second type of partnership between a man and woman has been generally referred to as a "companion" soulmate relationship. These are individuals who join together in a bond of deep love to work on a project together. This might involve the writing of a book, the formation of a spiritual center, the creation of an art gallery, etc. The decision to accomplish such a project was made by the two individuals prior to entering the earth plane and their choice to do so was determined freely. This type of partnership (or others) may last part or all of a lifetime. The purpose of this union was defined by the two individuals involved prior to entering the Earth plane. Their intent may or may not have been spiritually oriented. As is always the case, we create our own reality through the choices we make and we will always experience the results of our decisions.

The third kind of relationship is considered to be the most profound and compelling of all three. This is the"twin soul" or "twin flame" union that will eventually transcend all others. However, because it is so highly charged with energy, the two individuals must be spiritually ready for it to last any meaningful length of time. When fully prepared, this union is meant to last for eternity... because of its relationship to the ultimate oneness we will all seek with our Source. It is important to realize that any relationship you may now be having, whether it be soulmate or twin-soul, has the potential to be a glorious, fulfilling, extremely loving and very rewarding one (assuming that is what both individuals are striving for). The coming together of twin souls does not guarantee fulfillment any more than a soulmate relationship might bring. What increases the chance for success is that the two individuals must be spiritually prepared for their relationship and then constantly find ways to make it work on that basis. The key ingredient is unconditional love and the desire to base the relationship on a spiritual rather than a religious dogma foundation. There can be a difference between the two.

Finally, all soulmate relationships help us to prepare for the eventual reunion with our twin. As such they can be extremely valuable and must should be honored and respected for that very blessed purpose. (Also keep in mind that your twin may not be on the Earth plane at this time).

As one considers the above it is possible to reach the conclusion that your love life is "predestined." That is not the case. If you planned on meeting someone(s) this lifetime around before entering the Earth plane you will indeed meet. That part is set. However, when you do come together for potential union free will still comes into play. You can then choose to have a relationship or not. Thereafter, both partners co-create the outcome of that relationship with their individual choices. Always, always remind yourself that all relationships have a spiritual purpose... reminding you who you really are. After all, if you had no one to relate to how could you know yourself? That is why all relationships are blessed and sacred.
