Cities of Blood II is a sequel as the name suggests. After running the original for five years usually with at least two other games at the same time (not to mention the games I just played in and didn't run) and working full time I finally got to the point I needed a break. So after some time off I finally feel ready to embark on the challenge once again. However then the question became how to do so. I thought for a while of just continuing from where I left off in the last campaign, however I knew there were some problems with it. The largest was the amount of people involved. To really run a good LARP you need a lot of people, and at the time I was worried that I could not control a great deal of people, so only allowed a certain number of people in. This worked to a point. So I felt it was time to open up the game to whomever wished to play.
Now that decision brought up another question, do I want to through new players into the middle of an already moving plot? I decided that would not be fair. However to just leave those whom had been in the prior game with no ending wouldn't be fair either. So a sequel in my opinion was the best option. It would be a fresh new game for everyone, yet one of the plots was uncovering what had occurred in the prior game.
So that is in short how the idea occurred. (Thank you to Lyn T. whom also helped me think this through and helped come up with some of the ideas for organization which will be explain else where.)
