The inaugural meeting of Lair No. 3 took place on November 11, 2000, in the upper room of the Maennerchor Society building in Doylestown, Penna. Dan Morrison gave a non-Challenge presentation on the fuelless motor of Lester J. Hendershot, a Pittsburgh native. A charter petition was signed by the men assembled. And two guests, representing the Pittsburgh Lair No. 1, were present.
