J. F. FRANKOWSKI - Retired Contractor Was Legion Officer - John F. Frankowski, 66, of 234 Dexter St., died today in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Ann Arbor, Mich. Mr. Frankowski, a lifelong Toledo resident, was a retired electrical contractor. He was a World War I army veteran and was a past commander of Argonne Post, American Legion. He was a member of St. Hedwig's Church and the Holy Name Society of that church. Surviving are his wife, Pauline; daughter, Mrs. Vivian Tillman; sons, Norman J. and Clifford P., all of Toledo, and two grandchildren. The body will be in the Urbanski Mortuary after 7 tonight. Military services will be held in the mortuary Saturday at 9:50 a.m. Other services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Hedwig's Church. The Holy Name Society will recite the Rosary Friday at 7:30 p.m. The Argonne Post will hold memorial services Friday at 8 p.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

She was a past vice-president of St. Hedwig Parent-Teacher Association. Surviving are her son, Norman, daughter, Mrs. Vivian Tillman; brother, Anthony, sisters, Mrs. Rose Kwiatkowski and Mrs. Martha Stiles; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Hedwig Church. The body will be in the Urbanski Mortuary after 2 p.m. Friday, with Scripture services to follow at 4 p.m. and Buddy Frankowski Post, VFW, services at 7.

Clifford P. Frankowski, Sr., 46, of 234 Dexter St., died Saturday in Mercy Hospital after a long illness. Mr. Frankowski was a lifelong Toledo resident. He was a microwave technician 23 years for Ohio Bell Telephone co., leaving in February because of illness. He was a member of St. Hedwig Church, Frankowski Post Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Communications Workers of America. Mr. Frankowski and Roman Frankowski, after whom the VFW post was named, were cousins. Surviving are his wife, Loretta; sons, Clifford P., of Toledo, and Craig P., of Columbus; daughter, Paula, mother Mrs. Pauline Frankowski, brother, Norman J. and sister, Mrs. Vivian Tillman, all of Toledo, and one grandchild. Services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the church with burial in Calvary Cemetery. The body will be in the Urbanski Mortuary after 7 tonight.

Loretta M. Frankowski, age 69, of Toledo, passed away June 13, 1998 in Toledo Hospital after a long illness. She was born December 10, 1928 to Peter and Martha (Napolski) Biniecki. Loretta's places of employment included the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 50 as a bookkeeper, Keidan's Jewelers (Southland Shopping Center) as a bookkeeper for 10 years, and the Lion Store (downtown) as a buyer for 12 years, retiring in 1992. Loretta was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Class of 1947. A loving wife, mother and grandmother and good cook, you would always find Loretta enjoying her children and grandchildren or in the kitchen cooking. The widow of Clifford Frankowski, who passed away in 1971, Loretta's survivors include her loving family, sons, Gary (Pam) Harmon of Norwalk, OH and Robert (Kathy) Harmon of Toledo, OH; daughters, Mrs. Judith (Don) Lorenz and Mrs. Paula (Michael) Kosmider both of Toledo; eight grandchildren and one great-grandson. She will be sadly missed by her children and grandchildren and many friends. Friends may call Monday from 2-9 p.m. in the Sujowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114-128 E. Alexis Rd., where a Scripture Service will be held at 7 p.m. Funeral services will begin Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the mortuary and continue with the Mass of Christian Burial in St. Catherine's Church at 10:30 a.m. Interment Calvary Cemetery.

He also worked as a manager 19 years for Midland Finance Company. He was a past Vice-President of the Toledo Automobile Dealers Association. Surviving are his sons, Michael and Patrick Dugan; and 4 grandchildren. Also surviving are brother, Leo; sisters, Mrs. Irene Quebe and Mrs. Isabelle Morse. There will be no visitation. He retired from the Southland Shopping Center State Liquor Store in 1980. He was a life member of the St. Jude Council #3904 Knights of Columbus. He was also active in the Mud Hen's Booster Club and the A.A.R.P Maumee Seniors Chapter#2356. Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Evalyne Nowak; 2 nephews, John and Michael Dugan and 2 cousins. There will be no visitation. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on his birthday, June 8, at 7 p.m. in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. Arrangements by the Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Rd., 865-1295.
