Greetings music lovers, bored surfers, and insomniacs, welcome to the ever changing Music Newsroom! I'm not able to keep up and report on the very wide Christian music scene like I wish I could, so this site is just about the artists and lyrics on my site. For those of you who enjoy knowing useless facts, there are three quick links to view on the right containing the most recent news about The Music Department.

Behold the long overdue Music Department updates are complete! Okay so the changes are just in the appearance of the place, but it's amazing what a good coat of paint can do. I'm know long overdue for some new music and I have cd's piled up all over the place with lots of good lyrics that need to be added. I also have a couple new artists that will be added to the Department as soon as possible. There is a sort of new Artist Spotlight that I don't think many people have looked at yet, but I'm sure I'll be able to find a new artist without much trouble.
On a side note, I have joined the masses of iPod owners who enjoy carrying their digital music with them no matter where they go. I'm hoping this will aid me in my search for new lyrics to add to the site. I know I'm late to the fray, but I never claimed to be a trendsetter. _K

Oh let there be wails of mourning from the streets!! Christian rock faithfuls are losing a loved and cherised band! Although I couldn't believe it at first, it is actually a fact! Audio Adrenaline is forever ending their career. 2006 will be their farewell tour and cd Adios. This is a very sad day indeed for rock 'n roll fans everywhere. If you haven't been to any of their concerts yet this is your last chance! I promise you won't be disappointed. It was hard enough to lose the Supertones last year, but now I have to see another group fade away. So sad.
In other news this is my first news item here in over 10 months. What can I say, it's been a crazy year. Those who visit regularly - greetings to both of you - will have noticed continued changes to the Department as well as the entire site. More changes, lyrics, artists, and new stuff is in store. I just never know when. Keep the music turned up loud! _K

There's always more changes around here, and they aren't limited to the color scheme. Besides the new looks there is a new artist in the Music Department! Who might the artist be?!? And there will be other new artists showing up here soon so keep your eyes open. There are also new lyrics available with many more on the way. The Department now has over 150 songs online for your surfing pleasure! And if that weren't enough, I recently increased my music stash by way too much so I have a whole bunch of new songs to filter through and add the good songs. There are lots of new exciting changes coming soon so stay tuned and be sure to check out the hot singer currently under the Spotlight. _K

Spring break has finally arrived! And I'm using some of my free time to do the always needed updates to my site. There are new lyrics and a new Artist Spotlight, I wonder who it might be this month. I'm doing my best to keep the music pages updated with whatever news relates to each particular artist, although I could probably make that a full time job if I tried. If you find something that is way out of date or incorrect please contact me and let me know. I'm just an amatuer, and I make mistakes, I'll admit it.
Other then that, I think that's all the news for the time being, I may get more lyrics loaded later this week so be sure to check for new songs throughout the Department. In case I don't get any more updates this semester, have a great spring! _K

And I blinked again and I had already missed the New Year's Celebration. Time sure flies when you aren't paying attention. Anyways, I was looking at the Music Department and realizing how many updates were needed. So I've attempted to get most of the Music Pages updated. I also created yet another new page within the Music Department. There now exists a Graveyard where all the discontinued, defunct, and otherwise deceased bands in the Music Department spend the rest of the millenium. As I find new artists I like I will send the ones that have since broke up to the Graveyard and replace them with what is current and hot. This is obviously an ongoing project, a process of evolution, of life, as new artists arrive and the old depart.
I'm also working on getting the Artist Spotlight updated, I know it's overdue, way overdue, but I am working on it. School will keep me busy in the coming months so there might not be much change for a while. But I'll be back. Till then. _K

So I blinked and suddenly it was the middle of October. Three fast months are now in the past and I've made some new updates to the site. I'm constantly fiddling with cosmetic touches so for those of you who think it looks different, well it probably does. I've got new lyrics online, and new music coming so hopefully there will be even more new lyrics to add soon!
Also, it's the grand opening of the Lyric Closet where we're going to be storing all those lyrics that just aren't getting any hits. The Closet will allow me to keep lyrics online and not clutter the main pages too much. I'm sure the closet will slowly accumulate lots of stuff, just like any closet does, so if you're bored check it out and see what's hiding in there.

Wow, it's July already, where did the past five months go?
Despite the feeling of being in a time warp I have managed to add vast updates to the site and the Music Department. The most obvious change is the navigation bar at the top of the page. There are other changes here and there many of them dealing with the html code being used. The very observant may notice font or color changes or maybe the moving of an artist from one room to another.
As far as music news goes we've got a brand new Artist Spotlight and this one really rocks! This month's Spotlight features a brand new Christian artist so there is a new artist listed in the ranks as well. There are new lyrics and many more on the way. My music collection has grown yet again so you can expect more new lyrics in the future.
In other news I've discontinued the 
song section. I was running out of time to keep up with the updates every month so I decided to drop it for the time being. Maybe it will come back in the future, when the time is right. I also may soon be removing artists who no longer exist from the Department to keep things current, but we'll see how things work out.
I would like to think my next update will occur before December, but since it's been nearly five months since my last update who knows. However long it may be till the next update keep the music turned up! _K

Another month and more changes for you! There's a new Artist Spotlight along with four new songs! You can see several new design updates throught the Music Department and more will be on the way I'm sure. The Department now has 130 lyrics available, and we're growing fast! Well here it is a brand new year and there are some changes to start 2004 of right! I've made navigation between the music pages easier and quicker with the bottom and top nav bars. I've also updated the look of things slightly, but who is going to notice that?! There are new songs on the way I promise! You'll soon find brand new lyrics in each of the four music rooms very soon I assure you. The Songs kinda took a nose dive for December, but that's how things go on the web. I'll just have to try harder to get visitors this month It's hard to say what other changes might be in store in the future, but as with all things computer related change is inevitable! There goes practically another whole month! My how time does fly. There's been a few minor changes here and there as far as appearances go, but the major changes are six new songs! That's right, six whole new songs. The total count of songs on the page is now over 125 and growing rapidly. There are plans to bring you many more, but they take time to add. If you are looking for something specific let me know so I can load what people are looking for. You can check out the new songs by clicking on the link above.
The Hot Songs are proving to be somewhat volatile, I haven't updated the list yet, but there are at least two new songs on the list as well as two or three who only spent one month on the list. You can check out the entire list of Hot Songs above. Till the next update. _K
10.30.03 Well it's been over a month without any news here in The Music Department, but now that the redesign is finished there is lots of news to report! There are layout changes, color changes and font style changes. I've also decided to use the term Rooms instead of pages for the Music Department like I have in the past.
Besides the color, text, and layout changes there are new additions to the Music Newsroom as well! You can view new lyrics and the new additions to my music collection along with the complete list of Hot songs by clicking the links at the top of the page. More little lists may show up with time. I've also began the Music Department Glossary just to explain various nuances of this site. I'm sure the Glossary has the potential to grow with time.
There is also a new Artist of the Month to go along with the redesign. With the new artist comes a whole bunch of new lyrics. Speaking of lyrics, I'm now way over 100 songs available for your perusal. I may add a new page for you browse the lyrics alphabetically in time. But considering the amount of time this redesign took me, it'll be a little while.

9.1.03 Seems like I just posted here, oh wait. I did! Just a quick news bulletin for those who actually read this. The Music Department library now contains the lyrics of over 100 songs! That means several new songs on various pages. More to come in time. The rest of the updates are mostly cosmetic. Updated the fonts throughout the Department and made it easier to update in the future. Some of you may notice the artists sites open in new windows. Next step - java! Have a good September. -K
