It's spring break around here and so I'm making a little time for much needed updates around here. My music collection is rapidly expanding so I've got alot of choices for future Spotlights. For my first Spotlight of 2005 I've chosen a very talented young lady with a great deal of experience in music over her career.
Jaci Velasquez, still a young 24 has already churned out 9 full length individual albums. She's done 10 if you count the spanish version of her Christmas album, but lets not split hairs. That's alot of music for any artist, and Jaci shows no sign of letting up anytime soon. Her two most recent albums, Unspoken and Milagro were both released in 2003 and a new cd is due very soon.
For those who haven't heard Jaci sing, you're missing out, her talented voice stands out among as one of the best voices in Christian music today. Her style is very much pop with lots of Spanish influence mixed. Although her style certainly isn't the edgy rock I often favor, it remains the perfect choice when I need something softer. Her voice is one of the most relaxing voices you can listen to.
I look forward to the new cd coming out this year. I'm sure I'll get my hands on it relatively soon. If there are any good songs on the album I'll be sure to add them here. A side note, most of the lyrics listed to the right are off her most recent albums, mostly because I enjoy the sound Jaci has developed as she has matured.
