So you think you're ready to role-play with us, are you? Awesome! The application process is really quite harmless and easy. Also, if you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact a staff member. We're always happy to help.

First, a few things to remember when applying for a character. Most of the characters in the room will be mutants or superhumans. Mutants are those born with special abilities, super-humans develop them through other means (such as the spider bite that turned Peter Parker in to Spider-man). They have the power to control the weather, read minds, move water.. anything is possible! However, we do ask that you provide appropriate limits. No character is 'all powerful' or unstoppable. Everyone has a weakness. Again, if you have a question, don't hesitate to ask!

Of course, you can also play a human. While these guys aren't super-powered, they aren't any less interesting. Just think a normal human. You can make them athletic, smart, artistic.. once again, anything is possible here! However, most humans hate mutants with a passion, and feel threatened by them because they can do things that regular humans can not.

There are also supernatural characters in this setting. However, you must get an approval to apply a supernatural character from the supernatural storyteller before applying the character. If you apply and you did not have prior permission to do so, your character will automatically be denied. Time travelers, dimension hoppers, and aliens are - at this time - not applicable.

Character Creation:

  1. First and foremost, please read everything else on this website and the forum first. Make sure you read the setting information, and read and agree to all the rules listed on the rules page. Check the forum in case there are any important updates or storylines going on at the moment. If you have a question, please contact a staff member to help you.

  2. To request a model, make sure to check the rosters page on this website to make sure the model you want isn't already taken. Also, check the model thread on the forum to make sure no one else has claimed the model for a character in the works. Remember that movie-canon models are on hold for their character, and can only be used for another character if the player wishes to use someone else.

  3. If the model you want is free, go ahead and request it. You will have two weeks to submit a sheet from that point on so make sure you know what you want to do with your character! Any character not applied by the time the two week time period is up will have their model freed for others to use.

  4. If you are requesting a canon, please be sure to wait 3 days before applying. This gives other players and staff members the chance to tell you about the canon's history should he/she have been played in the room before. If no one responds within 3 days or someone informs you on the forum that he/she hasn't been played before - you're all set to apply!

  5. Once you are ready, go here and fill out the application form. Make sure you fill out everything! Any application received that is not complete is automatically denied. Be sure to include any canon family relations and make sure you speak with the player of that character (the Guthries, for example) so the histories all tie in. Originals may not by related to or children of canon characters. These will automatically be denied. We also ask that you write the applications in your own words. Applications that have been copied & pasted from other sites or other people will be denied.

  6. The character alignment section may cause some questions to be raised - you can see what defines each alignment choice by going to this helpful page.

  7. After your application has been submitted, you may then test play in the room. Originals may test play without approval, while canons MUST ask a staff member if it is ok to test play. Staff members will go over the applications in the order they were received. You should get an e-mail back within one week. Please do not harass staff members about your application. If it has been more than a week, feel free to then e-mail us or contact us on AIM.

  8. If a character is approved, congratulations! Please remember to put somewhere in your tag that your character is now approved.

  9. If your character wasn't approved outright, don't worry! More than likely there is just some tweaking that needs to be done. If this is the case, the player is not allowed to play their character until he or she has been fully approved. If we want something minor changed, this is not considered a full denial. Instead, simply change what is necessary and e-mail us back. If a character has been out-right denied (as in, we tell you he or she has been denied in the e-mail) again, don't worry! You must now wait a week before re-requesting the canon and/or model that was denied. During this time, however, the canon and/or model are available to other players as well. If re-applying, you only have one week to apply after re-requesting the canon and/or model.

  10. If a player is denied a second time, the canon and/or model is put back up as available once again, and the denied applicant must now wait two weeks before re-requesting. As before, they will have on week to apply after re-requestins.
