Over Spring Break, I traveled with 10 students from the University of Illinois Wesley Foundation to the Cumberland Mountains of Tennessee to participate in the Mountain T.O.P. program. This program is an ecumenical program administered by the United Methodist Church that sponsors summer camps for youth, college students and adults, as well as a Spring Break option for college students. Over the course of a week, participants do repair and maintenance work on homes, schools, churches, nursing homes and community centers throughout the rural mountain towns of Tennessee.
