Symbols in the Bible,
especially Book of Revelation

When John wrote down these prophecies some 2000 years ago, he used traditional symbols from Jewish, Egyptian and Greek mythology. Other symbols changed their meaning afterwards and the prophet predicted their future meaning. To understand the symbolic language it is important to know the tradition of these symbols since ancient times and their usage in Biblical prophecies:
The Four Elements:
Earth (Color: yellow) everything from this world, objects, plants, animals, the human body, goods and nowadays especially money, which controls the relationship between the individual and the element of earth. The Inhabitants of the Earth are approximately 99% of humanity who are preoccupied with things from the element of earth. The Kings of the Earth are very rich people, and nowadays especially bankers. Revelation 21 predicts a new "earth", a new attitude towards the material world and money in the New Age portrayed as "The New Jerusalem", which will come down "out of heaven". Heaven is an image for the element of air symbolizing ideas. (Color: red) destruction, violence, riots, war. In Egyptian-Jewish mythology the Sun is a symbol for the element of fire represented by the Lion-headed Sun-Goddess Sekhmet. The Lion of Judah (the name: "Judah" means lion in Hebrew) and the Lion of England are derived from there. The Freemasons worship the Sun-god Jah-Baal-On, and the Lion is therefore called Dieu (God) in the Lion and Unicorn symbol of Britain. Another symbol for the element of fire is the Sword.
The Devil or Satan represent destructive forces and therefore belong to the element of fire. |
Nevertheless these forces serve a useful purpose, because change is one of the basic laws of nature in history, and new things can only be created after old things have been destroyed. However Revelation 20 predicts that destruction will largely be abolished in the New Age. The ancient wheel of demolition and recreation will no longer be necessary to promote development and historical progress.
Water(Color: silver) emotions, especially love. The force of creation opposed to fire. The element of water is also represented by the Sea and the following symbols: the Moon, the Crescent, the Sickle, the Bow. Emotions can be troublesome and threatening to the individual (pride, greed, hostility, etc.), in which case the Revelation talks about "the Sea" (see 21:1). They can also be extremely destructive and harmful. Such emotions (hatred, anger, rage) are called Blood (see 11:6), because it has the colour of fire: red symbolizing destruction. Loving and caring emotions are symbolized by "the Water of Life" (see 21:6, 22:17). In chapter 21 the Revelation predicts that "the Sea" will be abolished and replaced by "the Water of Life" in the New Age.Air
(Color: blue) ideas, intelligence, science, spirituality, the world of spirits. The element of air is also represented by the head, the sky and heaven. Birds as creatures of the air may sometimes symbolize spirits. The Internet as the facility, where people exchange ideas with little interference belongs to the element of air. Air mixed with fire is called Smoke (See 9:2, 15:8), symbolizing destructive and perverted thinking and science. Revelation 21:2 predicts that the New World will "come down out of heaven from God", which means that it will be created out of a different way of thinking under the guidance of divine spiritual forces expressing themselves through prophecies like the Revelation. This will lead to a New Heaven (21:1), a new attitude towards religion and knowledge and a New Earth, a new approach towards the material world and money. But this progress will only be achieved after a war in heaven (see 12:7), in which a person symbolized by the name "Michael" and his supporters will fight against the dragon, the old evil culture that keeps the Beast in power. This war might be fought on the Internet and as it happened the Beast opened her site on 6/3/1997 in fulfilment of Revelation 12, verse 7. What next? Probably verse 8 and 9.
