Information supplied by

George White's (born Hankerton) mother was Elizabeth Archard Hayes (born Crudwell). She was the sister of Giles and Henry who you mention.
George was of Tetbury when he married in Swindon in 1752 and again when his only son Thomas was bap. there. His wife was from there.
He inherited from supposedly "his great uncle" John Weake in 1749 (or soon after as we don't have a death for John) Long Newton house and land. I note also in John Weake's will (dated 2 April 1749) he pays Abraham Terrill, mason of Tetbury (you have him on the site) and leaves grants to the Archard als Hayes of Tetbury. It should be noted Henry (Harry) Archard Hayes (bapt 1706 at Crudwell) was listed as deceased and the money went to his children at the time of the will. (Giles was still alive.)

OUR George White's family (plus Thomas his first child and only son of course) is
"George White baptised Mary 17540921, Sarah 17560612, Ann 17580603, Elizabeth 17600212, George 17620220 (died), Jane 17640515.

Why? Well George was loaded. Mary was an only child and her father gave them lots of land as a wedding present and George had Long Newton House and lands (there was a lot). He was a mercer and his brother John White at Hankerton was a clothier. They were both very well off as John was the eldest and inherited his fathers property. Thus I am sure George wasn't a tenant.

Our George died 9 February 1783. The coat of Arms is on the plaque in the Long Newton Church I believe. Also recorded is the TWO children who died Elizabeth 26 March 1767 aged 7 and George died 24 February 1763 aged 13 months. Thus the George bap. in 1770 must belong to another George White as Thomas is the only son.

From Irene's research, in the orange box, we also have a third George White, who baptised his son George 17701027. A fresh look at the entry in the Register tells us George the father is an Attorney at Law, and also baptises Richard Talboys 16 Aug 1773 buried 17 Feb 1774, Thomas Colthurst on 9 Apr 1775 buried 3 Jul 1775, Alice buried 8 June 1779. George buried 28 Jan 1788 is called son of Geo and Alice White. This is the family with the memorial given me by Irene.
George is appointed a Trustee in William Cope's Will dated 7 Feb 1793. He is probably the Att at Law.

Hannah White married on 17260216 to Edward Far of Minchin Hampton.
James White buried his wife Mary 17701118.
