This Will was made on 4 July 1735, and Proved on 17 July 1735.
He left his house and garden to 'my wife Joanna' and other items to 'my brother Samuel'.


Henry Davis, 1725 son of Samuel, married on 17491126 to Sarah Reeve, and baptised his son John 17511015.
He is mentioned as his brother in law in William Reeve's Will signed by his own name on 16 Nov 1758

John Davis 1675 - 17420721 married 16960423 to Margery Mills. Children baptised in Tetbury are Ann 16991224 and John 17040530 - 17300423 aged 26.
His widow Margaret was buried 17421209.

John Davis married on 17180720 to Anne Neale.

He was given his Apprentice's set of clothes cost 2-10-0 made by Richard Hearding
John Davis boy's apprentice money of 2-10-0 was paid by the Trustees to Josiah Paul reference D 566 L 7/8 dated 27-Dec 1732. He would be aged about 12, ie born 1720.
D 566 M3 1734 Indentures cost 7/- for Master Josiah Paul teaching John Davis.

John Davis 17280609, son of Richard, married 17570925 to Hannah Grant 17310402, daughter of Charles, and baptised Ann 17571226 - 17641225 aged 7 buried as Hannah, Thomas 17590507 - 17600505 lived 1 year, Sarah 17600612, Mary 17620318, buried John 17641225 and baptised John 17670415.
Another interpretation of the two burials on Dec 25, 1764 is that Hannah and John were twins who did not live to be baptised.

John Davis, Amy his wife with Anna, Anne, John and William their children under 14 years of age, received an Order from the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor at Hungerford, that they should be returned to Tetbury, reference P328a OV 3/3/1 dated 22-Mar 1736

Thomas Davis' wife Ann 1670 - 17300801, if the age quoted (59yrs) is hers, may be the mother of Hannah who had a baseborn daughter Sarah 17370422 and Daniel who was absent 1735. Thomas, her husband, was buried else where.

Thomas Davis 1689 - 17600326 aged 71, married 17181016 to Sarah Turke 1695 - 17450311. She was ill in 1735 - see the research by Ted Prince. They baptised Mary 17190810, Elizabeth 17200612, Sarah 17220813, Ann 17240613, Thomas 17260507, John 17280609, and twins Hannah and Rachel 17311010.
NOTE - both Thomas's, father and son, had twins.

Thomas Davis the Cordwainer 17260507 - 17710408 son of Thomas aged 44, married first 17481225 to Hester Dauncey 1725 - 17570729 and baptised John 17491005, Ann 17511119 died, Ann 17540520, William 17550106 and possibly also Joanna 17571113 baptised 4 months after her mother was buried.
Thomas Davis married second on 17591204 to Anne Fawkes 1732 - 17711005 aged 39, and baptised Hester 17610529 - 17690707 aged 8, Mary 17630110 - 17790410 aged 16, twins 17641214 Hannah died and John, Lydia 17660118 - 17790322 aged 13, Hannah 17690624 - 17690707 lived 2 weeks and Thomas 17700701.

William Davis married 17150926 to Elizabeth West 1670 - 17451005 aged 74. His son may be the Blindman, William Davis 1710 - 17600611.

William Davis of Dufton 1710 - 17600611, a Blind man, married 17450421 to Ann Higgins 1716 - 17670503 not of Tetbury, and baptised William 17460715, Ann 17471227 - 17610324 died of Smallpox aged 14, Mary 17491022, John 17510505, Sarah 17550302 and Benjamin 17560815 - 17630927 aged 7.
William Davis's widow Hannah was buried 17670503 with a quoted age of 86 - I estimate she was about 50 if I have corectly constructed this family.

William Davis 17460715, son of William, married 17830714 to Elizabeth Crew 17560817, daughter of John, and buried William 17850728 and Ann 17870916.

William Davis was named by Sarah Payne now Davis as father of her female child born 21 Dec 1784. This is the only instance I noticed, where the mother's surname appears to change. The Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor records, Reference P328a OV 5/4 dated 21 Jan 1785
