ELITE

MISSION STATEMENT:
   The mission of ELITE 2nd Div is to find out if we can apply "real world" military tactics on the squad level to various off the shelf (OTS) PC games. Including, but not limited to, Rainbow Six, Rainbow Six:Covert Ops, Rouge Spear, Rouge Spear:Urban Operations, and Ghost Recon. Impossible you say? Well for your information it is not a classified secret to know that The United States Marine Corp considered the use of "off the shelf" first person shooter games as a training tool? If you don't believe me you can do a search using keywords like USMC DOOM2 or a term used most often like Marine Corp Modeling and Simulation Management Office (MCMSMO) and find out for yourself and/or you can visit this site to learn more.
   Because the games have limitations, we are prevented from comprimising current Special Operation methods. Tactical details will be altered so as not to betray current Special Warfare techniques. Although what we propose appears serious in nature, bare in mind that this is after all just a game and as such, it should be fun. Some may think we take gaming far too seriously but to us, there is no greater feeling of having fun than emergeing from a game victorious. Imagine if after almost every game you had that feeling. Well, it does not occur from just wishful thinking. It happens only if you train hard, practice your tactics, and hone your skill as part of a Team. So, we do expect a certain level of seriousness in our members. In ELITE, we treat each other with a great deal of respect and consideration. There are many play-for-fun clans out there. We suggest to anyone who is planing on join ELITE and is not willing to take what we do seriously to look elsewhere.
   Teamwork is a mandatory requirement in ELITE 2nd Div. Our goal is to accomplish our victories by working together and only together untill the last man is alive. It occurs far too often that when a game begins, players almost always seem to be running off in differant directions. Each individual trying to hog every kill he/she can get for him/her self. If a person can do that then good for that player, but we are not impressed. What impresses us most and what we hope to do is win games by utilizing team oriented tactics. By operating as a team we will all have termendous fun and build a strong sense of comraderie. For us, as it is for all "real world" combat units, Teamwork is essential period. It is the basis of our clan and we try to instill this in all our new recruits.
   Without teamwork, the clan will begin to die a slow death as soo many start-up clans have done and then after the clan has disolved it is forgotten. Without teamwork members will no longer feel as if they are a part of something. They will begin to say to themselves, "Why am I in this caln? I am doing the same thing as when I was clanless. Sure I've made a few friends here but it just isn't going anywhere. I'm better than this I know I am. Maybe there is another clan that is different". And soon without any hesitation they quit and join another cookie-cutter clan only to be disapointed again. They begin to loose faith in clans altogether and just play solo pick-up games. It's sad to see this happen to clan creatos with the best of intentions.
   We do not believe a clan can have good teamwork overnight or by typing in the chat window,"Teamwork pls". You might get better results by spinning in circles three times while clapping your hands and chanting "We are a team We are a Team". Nor can you expect that you have teamwork because you and your good solo playing clanmates owned everyone the night before. Everyone ran around guns blazing and managed not to kill each other in the process. To be able to own your opponents with consistancy is highly unlikely without teamwork. Teamwork is something that can only be accomplished over a long period of time. We understand that there are many players who think they will be a good team player because they are an awesome solo players. Yet, when a game begins and the bullets begin to fly, they panic and abandon all team tactics for the more comfortable solo tactics that they have come to rely on. It takes a great deal of trust in knowing that your flanks are covered by your Squad Mates on the right and left of you. It takes a great deal of trust in that your Instructors have trained you and your fellow clan mates well in the deadly arts of on-line combat. It takes a great deal of trust in what your Leaders decide. You must have faith that the Leaders are making policies that are best for the clan.
   We do not pretend that we are an unbeatable clan because we simply are not. We don't think any clan is unbeatable, provided they do not cheat. We believe that any clan using cheats is one that lacks the discipline and/or knowledge to fight as a team. So, they opted for the easy and only way their clan can win. Although I don't think it is entirely thier fault, because they probably decided to use cheats because there was no other alternative, other than to lose all the time and watch as members slowly began to quit. Being that most gamers have probably never served in a military or police tactical unit, it may be safe to say that they just didn't know how to train, lead, and fight as a team.
     If our tactics are sound and our teamwork is effective we will be one of, if not, The most deadliest clan the internet gaming world has ever seen. ELITE(2D) Code of Conduct
� We are an on-line gaming clan that plays various tactical gaming platforms. Although there are many clans that play the same games we do, we are unique from all the rest. What I mean by that is we simply uphold a strict code of respectable playing. WE are a group of quiet proffessionals that believe our actions speak louder than trash-chat. WE realize that cheat-codes are for the weak players that can not develop thier playing skill to that of an ELITE member. WE do not tolerate members who will embarass or place shame upon our clan. This means that members will NOT cheat, use vulgar language in a derogatory nature, be disrepectable to other players, or make accusations without proff. It is the duty of all 2nd Div ELITE members to report any misconduct by any ELITE member. In addition, I've become aware of clans falling apart because of too many inactive members. So to prevent this from occuring with us, I've created a list of resposabilities that all must know and follow. If a member fails to abide by them, he/she will risk punishment. If you are a member, then you should read the list of resposabilities that applies to you and know it-trust it-and operate like it..

ELITE 2nd Division History
� I (ELITE_DELETE_2nd Div_Ldr) was recruited into SNIPERS ELITE 1-Team during the last week of November 2001. At that time I was given the rank of Private (Pvt). The day after I was given a promotion to the rank of Major (Mjr). Two days later I was again promoted, but this time to the rank of Captain (Cpt). I know what you current/former military people are thinking. How can a Major be promoted to Captain when a Major outranks a Captain, right? Well, I wondered the same thing and guesstimated that there was either no clear idea of a proper rank structure and/or that ranks were being tossed around as incentives. I told myself if I ever get into a position where I can make a differance for the good of the clan...I, without hesitation, will. Anyways, this is where the first conception of 2nd Division began.
The SNIPERS ELITE 1-Team Clan has been around for a long long time. And through that time it has not been without its ups and its downs. Members have come and gone. Because of this, positions of leadership shifted to adapt to these internal changes. Due to a battlefield promotion, I (ELITE_DELETE_Cpt at the time) was given the rank of ELITE_DELETE_Clan_Ldr on Sunday December 2,2001 by my leader (ELITE_CONTACT) the clan creator.
Having the second highest position in the clan I (ELITE_DELETE_Clan_Ldr at the time) felt I had a duty to contribute to the clan's image. I did not want to be just another ELITE member with an impressive rank. For a few days I was very perplexed with how I could make a differance. I finally remembered my promotion/demotion from Major to Captain. Because of my promotion i was in a position where I could make a differance for the good of the clan. So I made a command decision to create, train, and lead a group of highly skilled players. With the appoval of my leader (ELITE_CONTACT), On December 3, 2001 I gave myself an early Christmas gift by creating ELITE 2nd Divison.
