May 2007
May 19 - Chelsea are English FA Cup winners. Drogba ensures Chelsea get their third successive double in Mourinho's reign as Manager. He scores an extra time goal in 116 mins. A goal started from Mikel to Drogba to Lampard to Drogba and he scores. Essien has been Chelsea's best man of the season, then Drogba, Cech, Lampard, Carvalho, Terry, Mikel, Kalou, Arjen Robben, Ballack in that order. Poor performers include Shevchenko, Boulahrouz in that order too. Drogba wins the season's golden boat (33 season, 20 premiership). Watch out for next season Man Utd - we are back to get our premiership trophy.
May 20 - Finish my first commercial designed website for Centre for Healthworks, Development and Research (CHEDRES) www.chedres.org. It's cool. Maybe you take a look and give me your opinion.
May 23 - AC Milan are champions of Europe. Inzaghi scores a brace, before Liverpool pull one back but it's too late this time. Suspect Kaka is World Footballer of the Year 2007. Well everyone knows that.
May 29 - Umaru Musa Yar'Adua is Nigeria's new president, succeeding President Olusegun Obasanjo who served 8 years from 1999. Liyel Imoke takes over from Governor Donald Duke - a great achiever - as governor of Cross River State.
April 2007
April 2 - commissioning of Tinapa. Lots of fun, the creme de la creme of the country, including President Obasanjo who did the commissioning. Nollywood stars. Took lots of pic, one with Jeta Amata (Pic), Producer/Director Amazing Grace. It's a great place, nice emporium and studio, the new centre of Nollywood, Nigeria's film industry. Memorable day with Rasine.(See all Tinapa pics in my Photo Archive)
Aunty Abo with Henetem are back to Usumutong this morning, I see them off and she dashes me some cents before I dash to home and then Tinapa.
April 14 - Governorship elections in Nigeria. I take a long trek to be part of the election.
March 2007
March 20- ASUU UNICAL goes on strike for the school administration overcharging them on pension. So, school's closed and I'll be on holidays, till Easter and till after elections. That's till May 2007. February 2007
February 12 - Youngest sister, Blessing's birthday.
January 2007
I expect 2007 to be the year I will balance all the aspects of my life and take a keener look at which direction I should be headed; learn some new skills, sharpen the old ones, make good grades that will be a determinant of what Physics would mean to me after the next year; make friends; enjoy love, actually I should have written this somewhere at the start; and learn life. Let's get it kicking.
Dec. 1 - the Christmas Festival begins in Canaan City, Calabar.
November 2006
Nov. 1 - Exactly ten years after first stepping foot in secondary school.
October 2006
Oct. 29 - Plane crash at Abuja, killing Sultan of Sokoto, two senators and 95 others. 9 survivors.
September 2006
Sept. 1 - BIRTHDAY!
August 2006
August 4 - the faculty elections are sucessfully conducted this time around. I didn't have any candidate, but my department candidate won his Director of Sports. Later in the evening, it's the final of the Interfaculty Games. Science faculty loses 1-0 to Management Science. A highly entertaining match but at the end, I lose due to a defensive error, after doing all the playing. We did an interview with NAPCS President earlier in the day.
August 8 - A nice day.
August 14 - A long day at school ends at 7pm. Emmanuel Okotie's birthday.
August 17 - Bought nomination form on Aug. 15th and made declaration for Director of Information, NAPCS today.
August 24 - Did my manifesto today and the elections will be tomorrow. My friends were generally impressed (with a little 'yabbing' anyway) with the delivery of my manifesto and Christ - they were good at cheering. I'm unopposed, so I should think of celebrating tomorrow.
Aug 26 - After yesterday's postponement, elections were held today, and by the time I arrived school, I was already the Director of Information, NAPCS-UCC-elect. Thanks be to God!
July 2006
July 15 - Younger sis, Glory's 17th birthday
July 28 - Faculty elections cancelled, a case of frivolous politics causing confusion.
May 2006
May 1 - Exams actually started Friday April 28, and then a marathon from Tuesday May 2 till Friday. May 1 was public holiday as Worker's Day.
May 5 - wrote the sweetest exam of them all and the last major one. The best way to end the exams I should say. All the braincracking, learning and stress is almost over for a moment, and it was a huge fun to add to it.
May 12 - Had a test at school. Had a lovely full day with Anne.
May 14 - Worshipped with Anne at Good Tidings Bible Church - a rather small church of 12 people, but with class, a good pastor and a lot of ambition. Nice Sunday.
May 17 - Immediate elder brother, Eb's birthday. Enough to eat and drink. I should have added weight. Got to check that.
May 22 - Its Monday and it's a rainy day. I finally get some inspiration to write my first poem of the new year. It's titled "LET IT RAIN". See it in the jotter
April 2006
April 7 - There's a new development today. The Press Board just got a fresh new entrant and a new look and style. The journey began since, and the destination never gets reached, but the road gets better and better. I spoke with many of my classmates and about seven agreed to join, so we have a press crew that will be approved, and one that will be vibrant with such good heads as I selected.
April 16 - Well, Easter was nice. My cousin Stella and my brother Ekpo went on vacation. But Easter still went on on a rather low key, except that church was filled due to the retreat that was held on our ground. Couldn't attend POP8 because I didn't feel really like attending...and the cyber needed my hands since Dad travelled.
April 18 - Took a new pic with a friend/classmate, Hodo. See it
April 24 - there's industrial action by Academic Staff nationwide (ASUU). Fortunately, since we've finished lectures, it doesn't affect us much. The strike will last for 3 days.
April 30 - 25th Marriage Anniversary for Dad and Mum. Thanksgiving at church and a reception that wanted me to add weight or maybe height. A very nice way to end a nice month and enter a nicer one.
March 2006
March 1- A Wednesday at school is always the most busy. A good day for March.
March 18 - A late birthday party for a friend. Enjoyed part of it.
March 29 - Solar eclipse passes through Nigeria. I always able to catch a glimpse of the partial eclipse in Calabar through the special pair of filters that was provided by my department.
March ran past without a clear cut new entry. The proper thing might just be to recall the new names that can feature more prominently in the diary - Anne, Mikel, Hodo, Nkem.
February 2006 Feb. 28 - A lot has transpired this month. Should I say it was stressful, nay I should say it was very busy. I had time to look at my department press board and single handedly made it busy again. It's challenging too, because I have to be in school early enough, when there are fewer people and do the pastings. It's been good so far. Wish for an helping hand.
Feb. 12 - My sister Blessing's birthday.
January 2006 Jan. 28 - Bassey's birthday
Jan. 8 - Travelled to Ikot Abasi, Akwa Ibom State, for my uncle's Marriage Blessing ceremony. Met most of my cousins after a year, and generally had a nice time. My cousins seem to be growing big with every passing day.
Jan. 6 - Attended a conference - the 7th Prof. Bassey Andah Memorial Lecture themed "Peoples, Culture, Technology and National Development in Africa". The lecture was delivered by a Minister and member of parliament in Kenya. Prof. Bassey Andah, before his death eight years ago, was a renowned professor in archaelogy, the best in the field in Africa and probably the first. The conference was attended by top government officials (Her Excellency Onari Duke, wife of C'River State Governor; Governor Duke was represented by Commissioner for Education, Prof. Celestine Bassey; former Ambassador of Nigeria to Argentina), VCs of UNICAL, CRUTECH and UNIUYO), top academicians and students (where I fall in). It was a brainstorming event. So many issues were discussed. The First Lady talked of the need to use technology to develop our culture. The guest lecturer talked on the need to learn from those who had succeeded in the field, especially our African brothers like Kenya. The need to form appropriate technical partners with the Western World was also spoken of. The change of the Nigerian curriculum to include culture, history and technology was vehemently advocated for. Lots and lots of learning.
Jan. 1 - Happy 2006! Though I failed to visit a tourist site this day, as it was last year,
due to car breakdown at the nick of time, this year starts off on a really good note. Later on, there are several good news flicking on about my friends: Daniel Ntino and Uwa Tessy.
2005: A great and memorable year ends. Gratitude reaches to all those who have touched my life in any way this year. It seems it all went positive; no one made a negative impact - that's a good record.
December 2005
Dec. 2 - Submitted my first ever research paper - THE ROLE OF PHYSICS IN NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT. A nice one, I must say. See it in PDF.
Dec. 5 - My second semester examinations begin with a tricky paper, that went off easy.
Dec. 17 - Semester examinations ends; and so all the beautiful faces disperse till next year.

Nov. 9 - Dad's b-day.
Nov. 31- Elder brother, Ebenezer, finishes his degree exams - Graduate in Computer Science. He should have a Second Class Upper I believe. He's had excellent results.
October 2005
Oct. 1 - Nigeria's 45th Independence Anniversary
Oct. 23 - Tragedy strikes Nigeria, as our first lady kicks the bucket, and 117 others follow suit in a different development, a plane crash.
Oct. 29 - I've seen some of my last semester exams results and all are above average.
September 2005
Sept. 1 - My birthday. Just found out I was getting older. Had nice times with my friends and took pics. Click here to view one.
Sept. 16 - Holiday ends. Though lectures are yet to begin. I had a nice holiday.
August 2005
Sunday, August 14 - My friend, Emma Okotie's birthday (Pic). We had a nice time together.
Tuesday, August 23 - Holiday begins, after sitting for my last paper.
July 2005
July 26 - wrote my first paper. That heralds the beginning of exams. The week preceding the exam seemed to be dull. Of course, everyone is on his/her own now, and that makes many times uninteresting. Well, it's getting a whole lot better now that we have started exams.
June 2005 May 2005 Have a nice day!
The holiday month that business was the nickname. A new government is to come in place this month - the first successful civilian to civilian personality change transition in Nigeria.
Interesting month. It's the last full month for the Nigerian present administration. And Governor Donald Duke will certainly do it in great style. I like that. Tinapa comes alive, lots of fun, excitement.
February 14 - Marina Resort at Moore Road, the riverside was the cool spot for the day.
February 20 - Anne's birthday. Some eating and gifts.
February 22 - School's been really tight. Everything is just begging for time - friends, school work and the extras, like press work. It's my first real chance today to update my website but I should be home now. Got some assignments to do, to submit tomorrow. Just confident I can scale through it with the candle. But things are going really well, and I'm pleased with even the challenges of school.
The start.
2007 - Year for the future
December 2006
Month of Festivity.
Dec. 22 - School goes on a break; We lay to rest the female lecturer in my Department, Late Mrs. Esuk Ekanem.
A reminder that the year is over.
Nov. 2 - there's a tourism project I am handling, "The Seven Wonders of Cross River State" - will say more on it once it gains more shape (likely when it's been designed fully and published). It should take the form of a calendar. Now, the problem I've got is that it would cost a lot to produce it, about N250,000. It's a huge doubt now how this will pull through.
Nov. 7 - Motor Bike accident around Esuene Stadium after a car hit my bike from behind; broke right wrist. Treated with local medicine/bandage.
Nov. 18 - A happy day! As friend and ex-classmate at Ikom, Linda Oyama graduates as best overall student with 1st Class (Hons.) B.Sc Microbiology. She goes home with a lot of awards, and most significantly a PostGraduate Scholarship to "study anywhere in the world" by the Cross River Governor Donald Duke.
Celebrated with Linda at her residence with Stella Ikang, Kuka Nsor and Assam Assam present. I gave a speech at the occasion.
Adindu graduates too (B.Sc Computer Science, 2-2).
Begins with Nigeria's independence day anniversary and ends with a plane crash.
Oct. 30 - Stella Ikang's birthday.
My month.
Attendance sheet: Anne, Stella I., Dunamis, Innocent, Imaobong, Chinwe, Adindu, Bassey Archibong, Bassey, Rasine, Wilfred, Imeiba, Peace Udoh, Nkem, Akanu, Peter Eteng, Ify, Emmanuel Okotie. A great day it was - my first large and best birthday celebration. Enough to eat and drink, gist and laugh, watch and view.
Sept. 26 - Mum's birthday. Cake and card.
University politics is in the air. My press work is going places. Interviews and more interviews. What's worrisome is that I have not been doing well with this site lately.
How long I have been away from my website! It's gradually becoming an holiday site - where I visit only once in a while.
Wow, wow, wow! It's May already. And it comes with a lot of merriment in it. Everything merriment started April 30, and never wants to end. Thanks be to God.
Oh well, Arsenal is beaten in the Champions League final. Their keeper is red-carded just less than half an hour into the match. They find a way to score but Barca come back with 2 goals in the last 14 minutes of the match. Not good for Gunners' fans, like me.
It starts with an April fool's day, that I failed to cash in on. And then runs in exciting fashion and with great zeal. Easter, 2 music concerts. I anticipate it with anxiety. Never forgetting my studies.
There was suppose to be a student body congress, but it never held.
I think it's going to be a lot more busy in March. And that means a lot of good things will happen alongside. Wish me well.
First month over. School begins in this month. It was a good one, no ill news.
Starting a year on a good note is invariably important. January will do just that.
2006
It starts with a lot of hope, aspiration and optimism.
Christmas in the air. I will be extremely busy for the first 2 weeks though, and after that, the best of Christmas.
School month, school, school, school - little time for self
School in low gear, and month fading so quickly.
My royal birth month.
A month that is running so fast. CEE 2005 Project last run. Finished my exams in this month.
A nice month, started with some spicy music at POP 7 (Sunday, July 3), of CASOR (Christ Ambassadors) Mass Choir. Rasine is a member. I was there for perhaps two hours. I adjudge it one of the best christian concerts in town, and the best I've attended, if not the only one.
Nigeria has been relatively calm I must say. School has been relatively most interesting, courtesy of school friends. One of the elements in my description of success on my home page was "to laugh much and often", and that's what they've kept me doing. It's my ultimate joy. So let's say, things are cool. Matriculation ceremony was interesting on Friday, June 10, with Stella Ikang, Rasine, Bassey, Victor Ndiodinma, Edidiong Sabbath and Wilfred Ofem. It was a full day for me.
School is on, lectures have started in earnest. There've been a lot of recreational activities. Watched a match in school and the result was fantastic. The school team won the new students' team 5-2. So it's been fun all the way. On May 5, 2005, that was another exciting day. I met one of my ex-high school classmates. It was to say the least, a shock. Then the same day, my friend (Rasine) got admission into school. So it was double joy for me. School has started, so I'll be busy. That doesn't stop me from browsing. It's my second home.
