FAMILY

My family is from Bakassi LGA in Cross River State, Nigeria by certificate(but I don't know if I am right). I have never been there and don't know any of my relatives staying there. Bakassi was a newly formed LGA, so we changed from Akpabuyo LGA to it. On my birth certificate, Odukpani LGA is written, so I guess we went from Odukpani-Akpabuyo-Bakassi. We have always stayed in Calabar anyway. I will list my family according to the order in the house. Read on!

This is my dad. He works independently as an electronic and computer engineer and owns a little cyber, where we browse from. But beyond the cyber, we also own a computer training school - computer maintenance, assembly, networking, appreciation - in the same building. In addition he supplies computers and computer accessories. He's huge in that. He must have influenced the choice of my field of study from cradle. We all wanted to be Electronic Engineers like him at childhood. He could be very jovial. It is said I take after him in many things. And always I am tipped to be the exact image of his father (my late grandfather).

Mummy just got appointed as Executive Secretary of Bakassi Education Board. You see, we're beginning to have links with that village of ours. Initially, she was principal in a secondary school and had been a teacher (of Biology)earlier in her career, and rose steadily to become vice principal. She studied zoology at the undergraduate level and now has a Masters. A woman with a lot of push, u must think, and I agree with you.

My eldest brother, Ekpo, 23, just finished his HND in Petroleum Engineering, and done with his NYSC at Kaduna. He's much of a nice person, he sings well, plays tennis and has many friends, which he makes with a clap of the hand. He's just cool. He's intelligent, he'z best in school in tennis, has a cute voice and takes the lead most of the time in the church youth choir. A complete being!

Ebenezer, just finished final year (Nov. 31, 2005), studying Computer Science. We are all brainy and he is not left out. Udomma is his house name. He's two years older than me. Watch out for this guy, he might as well be the next Bill Gates. When we were much younger, it seems that for every visitor that came, they will bring the two of us out together to greet. And then if it is a new visitor, he/she would ask who is older. And my church pastor will always tell him that he wasn't knocking me enough - I was growing taller than him. I am the tallest man at home now, so no more competition.

My immediate, three years younger sister, Glory, just finished secondary school. She is the most socialable in the family after my eldest brother. She plays the flute sparingly, writes essays, stories and poems. Has won many laurels, including a national church essay competition. She ran for her former school too (FGGC Calabar). Wants to study Medicine & Surgery to become a paedetrician. Quite cute!

This is the youngest, Blessing. The baby of the house and the only one still crying. That suggests she is the noise of the house, but she isn't really. Sometimes you need people like this who play, when you really want to play too or when u feel a lil bored. She just finished primary school. She always tops the class and has gone for several national and state competitions for her former school. JSS 1 student of FGGC Calabar. Good girl!

Meet my sweet cousin, Star (Real name: Stella).

The house pet - very beautiful and playful. Winnas is his name. He wouldn't be very big though cos he's not castrated. There's another dog now - female, Princess.
