The Santa Fe Trail Chapter meets monthly, on the fourth (4th) Thursday (except in November and December - see Calendar), from 6 PM - 9 PM in the Cunningham Family Life Center, 2nd floor, at the College Church of the Nazarene, 2020 East Sheridan, Olathe, Kansas*. The meeting format has a sit and stitch from 6 PM - 7 PM, meeting from 7 PM - 8 PM, followed by Show 'N Tell and a program. Visitors and guests are always welcome. *NEW* on the Website - The current monthly minutes are on the Minutes page and the old minutes are on the Old Minutes page in Microsoft Word format. Enjoy! Inclement Weather Policy: If Shawnee Mission Schools and Olathe Schools are closed due to snow then our meeting WILL be cancelled. The calling tree and e-mail will be instigated. Letter from our President: Just when it looked like spring was in the air we get another winter blast! What is that about ? I was thinking maybe spring was coming too soon or winter just wanted one last sweep through town! . . . but I think one lesson from this last storm teaches us is that weather is just not predictable! Hope you all got through it okay without too much worry, and hopefully it provided a little extra stitch time! Please be sure to read this quarter's newsletter! There is lots of information - our Sweet Cheap, Summer Retreat plans are underway and sign-ups are being taken; some really interesting programs are coming up and all the other good info Susan can fit into these pages! A Special THANKS again to Sharon Maxwell for presenting March's program and sharing her love of samplers, the program was wonderful. . . . and a special note of appreciation to Amy Bird who has diligently helped the Board as Vice President/Membership. Amy's term is up and will be making her leave as a Board member. Her dedication to our Guild has been wonderful and we will miss her laugh at the Board meetings but know we will still hear it at Guild meetings for YEARS to come! THANK YOU AMY! Which brings us to an update of our Board, this year we are electing Vice President/Membership, Treasurer and Education positions. Nominations have been taken for these positions and some Board members will be continuing on in their rolls; the slate will be announced at the April meeting, vote will be taken in May and positions will be transferred in July. Thanks to all of the ladies and gentleman who serve on the Board in elected positions and volunteer positions, your help is truly appreciated. Lily's Group - Any stitch project is welcome Day Stitchers Group - Any stitch project is welcome Open House Group - Any stitch project is welcome Moss Creek UFO Group Group Correspondence Course - The Group Correspondence Course is open to members only. Saturday Workshops- The workshops are open to members only. Models or descriptions of the workshop project are displayed at meetings for at least two months. * We might have to temporarily move our monthly meeting to a different location on the campus. Check the monitors hanging from the walls in the hallway, any location changes for our group will be noted there.
