Welcome to the home page for Elaine Tilley's professional portfolio. Take a look at the different sections in my portfolio. This portfolio was created in November 2003 as a requirement for a Graduate Level Course in pursuit of a Master's of Education. I updated some sections in August 2004. Files in this portfolio can be accessed with Adobe Reader (in .pdf format) or Microsoft Office (.doc or publisher format). Please use the navigation bar to the left to maneuver through the different sections of my portfolio. The most important part of my professional portfolio is my philosophy of teaching essay. I would highly recommend it be the first section of my portfolio that you visit. Please be careful in the files that you open. Because this website is hosted for free, Geocities limits the amount of files that can be opened in a certain span. I would recommend the .pdf files for viewing, since they are condensed.
Portfolio SectionsThe following is a list of sections and artifacts located within my portfolio. The sections were picked because of my experiences as a beginning teacher. The artifacts demonstrate my ability and dedication as a member of the teaching profession. This page contains an essay on my philosophy of education, and the skills teachers must hone in order to be effective. These lesson plans are actual lesson that I taught while student teaching or during my term as an Educational Advisor at Talent Search. They show my creativity and my ability to design lessons around standards. This section of my portfolio shows examples of assessments I have made. Currently all items in this section are from a graduate level class taken during the summer term of 2004. These worksheets are examples of materials I have created for my Talent Search students. They exemplify different skills that the students are to improve as they try to become college bound. This section shows my willingness to make myself a better teacher by becoming a part of the community. It also shows activities that help me grow as a professional. This section holds my professional resume. This section will show different methods, outside of the norm, that I have used to communicate with parents and students.Back to Top |
