Educational Talent Search WorksheetsAnger ManagementThis document was created to be used with Middle School students. It allows students to realize situations that upset them, and causes them to become angry. It is to be used with a story about someone losing their temper and causing significant harm. This document was created in 2002, and was first used at Fort Loudoun Middle School with a class of 6th graders. It was effective with several different classes.
Sports Page MathThis document uses baseball stats to re-enforce some of the concepts of middle school math. I used it with 7th grade students at Philadelphia Elementary students the first time. They enjoyed working with percentages in a practical application. They even later brought in the sports page and showed me they still understood the process.
Study TipsThis document was created from practical study tips I had received during my educational experience. I created it in the Spring of 2003 for students at Loudon High School. The tips were then used for ETS' Junior Day and in the junior high handbook. The students said they liked the tips because the were in a less formal format.
Time ManagementThe two worksheets are used together to form the time management lesson included in the lesson plan page. The sheets are to be used with middle school students. The first worksheet is to be used in groups to name time monsters. The second sheet is to allow the student to realize the ways they waste time. The students often come up with very creative time wasters, such as picking their wedgies and petting animals. Time management 2 .doc or .pdf
Trapped! This story is to be used with any group of students between 5-8. It allows the students to work together and think critically about what is important. This worksheet was created in the Fall of 2003 for 7th and 8th graders at Fort Loudoun Middle School. Each group was excited about the chance to solve the "problem," and even tried new solutions after time had officially ended. The students also offered lively discussion about what makes certain people more important.
