Restless Night
It's early in the morning, I should be asleep,
But instead I'm thinking of his eyes so deep.
The thing that is haunting me, I wish I could see,
Longing to gaze in his eyes, him looking only at me.
The way he smiles, the way he makes me feel,
Knowing the walls around my heart are starting to kneal.
Wanting nothing but to feel his strong arms,
For one moment in time,
Feeling safe from all harm.
My mind saying stop,
My heart saying go,
Not sure which to follow,
Or to go with the flow.
My heart beating faster, with every thought of him,
With every beat, thinking more of giving in.
All of these thoughts, sleep tries to fight,
When matters of the heart cause a restless night.
