Pattern Suggestions

Here are a few pattern suggestions to use when recreating the female costumes from Ever After. Very few of these are actually in print, but calling the pattern company directly to see if they have any still in their warehouse is an option, if ebay fails that is. ;) There are also ways to purchase out of print patterns from the Simplicity and McCall's websites: Simplicity [here] and McCalls [here]. Hope this helps!

Simplicity Patterns

Simplicity 3812: in print

The latest Renaissance-era costume pattern from Simplicity. Looks very much like the 'knock-off' Ever After pattern. (See below for costumes this pattern could potentially replicate.)

Simplicity 7756: out of print

A pattern suggestion from the Ever After Costume Yahoo!Group. The hat looks like it may work for one of the servants, and with modification, for Rodmilla's Marketplace Gown and Green Velvet Gown hat.

Simplicity 8192: out of print

A pattern suggestion from the Ever After Costume Yahoo!Group. The underdress would work for a variety of recreations, but the over-vest piece would need a skirt attached to it to be accurate. Also includes pattern for lace-up gauntlets.

Simplicity 8735: out of print

The 'knock-off' Ever After pattern from Simplicity. Meant to replicate Danielle's "Just Breathe" Ball Gown and Wine Velvet Ruins Gown.

Also useful for any of the 'noblewomen' gowns i.e. Rodmilla, Marguerite, Jacqueline, and Others, as many of the gowns have similar style lines (empire waist, pleated skirts, gauntlets, etc.)

Simplicity 9531: out of print

Generic Renaissance pattern. Good for any of the 'noblewomen' gowns. A variety of gauntlet options.

Simplicity 9533: out of print

A Renaissance overcoat pattern. Great for making any of the overcoats that go with the 'noblewomen' gowns i.e:

- Rodmilla's Green Velvet Gown
- Rodmilla's Dressing Gown
- Marguerite's Pink Velvet Gown
- any of Queen Marie's overcoats

As well as Jacqueline's Cut-Scene Dressing Gown, Marguerite's Cut-Scene Dressing Gown, Queen Marie's Night Gown and the Queen of Spain's costume.

McCalls Patterns

McCalls 2645: out of print

Maggie has used this pattern with some success for her recreation of Danielle's Wine Velvet Ruins Gown. Gives very full skirts. See pictures of her costume on her website [here].

McCalls 2806: out of print

Generic Renaissance pattern. Good for any of the 'noblewomen' gowns. Maggie has used this pattern with some success for her recreation of Danielle's Wine Velvet Ruins Gown. The bodice has similar lines to the original movie costumes (though the darts should be removed). See pictures of Maggie's Ever After costume on her website [here].

McCalls 3053: out of print

A pattern suggestion from the Ever After Costume Yahoo!Group. Looks very similar to MC2645.

McCalls 5444: in print

The latest Renaissance-era costume pattern from McCalls. Good for any of the 'noblewomen' gowns.
