English Club to host Sept. 9 recital
A "Choral Recital (a poetry reading)," the first English fest in EAC is slated on Saturday , September 9, 2006, 1:00-3:00 in the afternoon , at the Audio
July 27, 2006, former President Fidel V. Ramos challenged every Caviteño, "Sugpuin ang Kahirapan, Kaya ba natin ito?" for which all those present, hoping that GMA, Congress and all elective officials will hear and heed, answered in the strongest of their voices, "Kayang kaya!"
Stamping out poverty is a "utopian dream," but with an anti-poverty program in place and fully supported by government and all sectors, not too long will the Philippines see prosperity among its people.  FVR concluded his talk by turning over his book donations to Emilio Aguinaldo College-Cavite as his birthday gift to Dr. Campos and to the stakeholders of the EAC library.
Notable among the books and journals FVR donated to Emilio Aguinaldo College-Cavite were: Fighting Terrorism By Fighting Poverty by Fidel V. Ramos; Reengineering Livelihood Development In The 21st Century edited by Ruben M. Conti; Philippines 2000- A Vision For The Nation by Studio Five Designs; The Road To Peace And Reconciliation-Muslim Perspective On The Mindanao Conflict by Amina Rasul; Building An Asia-Pacific Spirit Of Community, and Reliving APEC 1996: Select Documents & Speeches published by 1996 APEC Presidential Task Force and the Advertising Foundation of the Philippines;  and So Help Us God: The Presidents Of The Philippines And Their Inaugural Address by J. Eduardo Malaya and Jonathan E. Malaya. These reading materials which significantly wage campaigns for development and poverty eradication are considered key acquisitions of the EAC library. It should be noted that Dr. Paulo C. Campos espouses "Poverty Eradication," and in fact, challenges schools to also provide education for leadership in the various disciplines, to explore models that may be used to provide better health care for all people, or in short, geared for the better life of our people. These and all are defined in the New EAC philosophy, Dr. Campos presented in July 27, 2005.
FVR's other valuable donations include: Out of the Lions' Den - The Travails and Triumph Of A Public Servant by Perfecto R. Yasay;  FVR Through The Years by Ben Cal; The Life And Times Of Angela Valdez Ramos by Melandrew T. Velasco; My Part In The 1986 People Power Revolution by Jose T. Almonte; The Filipino Saga-History As Social Change by Rosario Mendoza Cortes, Celestina Puyal Boncan and Ricardo Trota Jose; Silent Storms-Inspiring Lives Of 101 Great Filipinos by Fernando A. Bernardo; The Kalayaan Islands- Our National Heritage edited by Porfirio M. Aliño and Miledel Christine C. Quibilan; and The Power of  Reform In The AFP LOGCOM-A True Story by various authors represented by Manuel B. Mariano.(EBCjr)

FVR, proudly presents his book, "Fighting Terrorism By Fighting Poverty," copyrighted in 2005, during his speech at the blessing of the Emilio Aguinaldo College Medical Center-Cavite last July 27, 2006.

his hometown, Dr. Paulo C. Campos, is Dasmariñas' most outstanding and revered citizen," Mayor Elpidio "Pidi" Barzaga affirmed as he, Vice-Mayor Victor Carungcong and the Sangguniang Bayan members, formally awarded the plaque of recognition in a scenic musical and fireworks-laden presentation, " In Honor of a True Dasmarineño, A Tribute to Dr. Paulo C. Campos," held at the Municipal Quadrangle before a rain-soaked audience last Friday evening, August 25, 2006.
It should be noted that the Sangguniang Bayan of Dasmariñas during its 25th  regular session in July 10, 2006 passed a resolution to honor Dr. Campos as "Most Outstanding and Revered Citizen" of the municipality. Dr. Campos "is undoubtedly recognized as one of the pillars of this municipality and a genius of this country who has resolutely defined the past and the present through numerous innovations and unwavering passion that mark him as an unfailing source of inspiration to countless Dasmarineños, colleagues, and the Filipino people," cited the resolution.
The honoree, Dr. Campos was visibly inspired by Emil Sinagpulo's rendition of the song, "Somewhere My Love," obviously his favorite and the choral interpretation of the song, "The Impossible Dream," performed amidst the noise of the falling rain.
The Municipal Government of Dasmariñas, through this paper, expresses gratitude to Mrs. Lucila Mangubat; Mrs. Nadina Capayas; Mrs. Mercedes Cantimbuhan; Engr. Gelacio Barzaga; Mr. Doy Sanchez; Dr. Amado Campos; Dr. Jose Paulo Campos; Mr. James Encabo; Mrs. Carmencita Tabing; Mrs. Ellen Vallejos; Barangay Captains; Administrators, Principals and Teachers of DECS Districts 1 and 2; Mr. Rey Reyes and Dasmariñas Water District; UPSI, EAC and ICA employees; Friends and relatives of Dr. Campos; Dasca Cable Services; and Beatbox.
Emelita Cruz. Nahalal sina: Al Jerald Leyson, president; Aj Sili, vice-president; Zharina Madel, secretary; Lessie Pereja, treasurer;  Realyn Silva, auditor; at mga Representatives- Ma. Christina Pakingan, 1st year; Monica Cabiling, 2nd year; Harlenne Cabaron, 3rd year; at Martina Cabugawan, 4th year.
