| DARBY TOWNSHIP PUBLIC LIBRARY COMPUTER LAB |
| The library offers a computer lab for the use of library members. Members are allowed to use the computers on the day they sign up; however, potential members under the age of 18 must furnish a completed membership application with parent's signature before being able to use the computers or any other services at the library. Six computers with Internet access, Microsoft Office, CD-ROM drives, and floppy disk drives are available for use during library hours. A color printer is also available; ask the library staff member on duty for printing assistance and black & white/color printing rates. Library members interested in using our computers sign up for computer use each time they visit. During busy periods, we limit time on the computers to 20 minutes. Members who need more time on the computers may re-sign our sign-up sheet; at this point, they must wait until others who have signed up before them have had their 20 minutes on the computers. Use of personal floppy disks is not permitted; however, the library sells 3.5" floppy disks for saving documents for a small fee. Ask the library staff member on duty for a floppy disk. Library computers have no speakers. Library members who need to hear sound when using the computers are encouraged to bring their own headphones. Library staff on duty monitor the Web sites that members visit for appropriateness. Members visiting inappropriate Web sites will be asked to leave the offensive Web site, get off of the computer, or leave the library, depending on the severity of the problem. |
