Differences Between The Terms

‘Hindu’, ‘Indian Religions’,

‘Hindu Religion’ and ‘Hinduism’

Hindu:

There is a lot of confusion about the terms ‘Hinduism’ and ‘Hindu religion’. On analyzing the term ‘Hindu’, history reveals that this term was first pronounced by the Persians for the term ‘Sindu’ to denote the people who were living around the river Indus, i.e., the land inhabited by the Dravidians.

Indian Religions:

Indian Religions are religions that originated in India viz., Buddhism, Jainism, Saivism, Vaishnavism… and Sikhism, all founded by the Dravidians.

Hindu Religion:

Though the term ‘Hindu Religion’ should refer to all the Indian religions, it refers in fact only to Saivism and Vaishnavism, which were subsequently brought under the control of the Aryan fire worship and racial and caste discrimination. Even though Buddhism, Jainism and Sikhism also originated in India, ‘Hindu Religion’ does not refer to them because they have not been brought under the control of the Aryan fire worship and racial and caste discrimination.

Hinduism:

It is generally thought that ‘Hinduism’ is a very ancient religion and it is the mother of all religions.

Is this the Truth?

When the term ‘Hinduism’ is analysed, many hidden truths are unveiled. The term ‘Hinduism’ is not found in any of the early Indian Literature.

Hence, till the arrival of the Europeans, the term ‘Hindu’ had a geographical significance and referred to the people who lived around the river Sindhu.  It was the Europeans who coined the word ‘Hinduism’.

K.S. Pillai points out that

“There is no mention of the word `Hinduism’ either in old Tamil or in northern traditions.  Only in these modern times those who follow the Vedas claim their religion is Hinduism, and Hinduism is the religion of India; If there could be separate  religions for  America, England and Japan then it is possible to claim Hinduism as the religion of  India. If Hinduism is a religion based on Vedas and Smritis then it could only be one of the religions of India, and it cannot be the Religion of all the Indians.”1

What is the way of life or Dharma emphasized in Hinduism? The Sankaracharya  of Kanchi Kamakoti Mutt states that,

“Chathurvarna system was the foundation of the Hindu religion, which would vanish if the  system was abolished”.2

It is explained in the Encyclopaedia as follows:

‘Varna, the most important general and traditional conception in Hindu India of the composition of the good society’.3

The two major ethnic groups found in India are the Dravidians (90% - Sudras and the Panchamas) and the Aryans (10% - Brahmins, Kshatriyas and the Vaishyas). Dravidians are the original inhabitants of India, but the Aryans are the group of foreigners who came to India without any religion. For the Aryans, Hinduism is a political concept, a way of life and nothing to do with religion.  The Aryans utilized the term ‘Hinduism’ to impose the Aryan culture on the Dravidian Indians.

Sankaracharya states that,

‘The white men named us Hindus. The name he gave us saved us.’4

In India there existed many forms of worship and religions. Worship is universal but religion requires literature, philosophy or theology. A distinction between worship and religion is made on this basis.

The Aryans devised the Varnashrama Dharma concept (caste system) under the guise of religion and utilized the name ‘Hinduism’ to totally camouflage the Dravidian way of worships and religions. Actually, Varnashrama Dharma alone is the Aryan concept and all the other worships and religions hidden in Hindu religion are of Dravidian origin.

It is not wise if the Saivites and Vaishnavites who have scriptures which are different from the  Vedas, say that they are Hindus, says K.S. Pillai.5

In the book, ‘The History of Philosophy - Eastern and Western’ where  Dr.Radhakrishnan was the chief  editor, Hinduism is briefly explained as follows:

‘It can be stated firmly that the gradual development of Hinduism was not from the Aryan Civilization or from the Vedic Civilization. The Central theme which was not dependent upon Aryanism or Vedism can be explained as Dravidian thoughts.  And these are very significant for Hinduism’.6

T.R. Sesha Iyengar confirms this in his statement,

‘It would be more correct to describe the Indian  religions as Dravidian religion stimulated and modified by the ideas of foreign invaders.7

" 'Indian religion' says Sir Charles Elliot, `is commonly regarded as the off-spring of an Aryan religion brought into India by invaders from the north, and modified by contact with Dravidian civilization."8

It is very clear that Varnashrama Dharma concept was cunningly devised by the Aryans to subjugate the Dravidians to maintain their supremacy over them and to maintain the slavery over them. Dravidian form of worship and religions which were brought under the Varnashrama Dharma concept alone are included in the name of Hinduism by the Aryans.

For example Buddhism and Sikhism originated in India but there is no casteism in these religions, hence they are not included in Hinduism. This reveals the cunningness of the Aryans who plotted by utilizing the term ‘Hinduism’ or Hindutva, to bring the Dravidian race, beliefs and religions into their control and veiled their deceptive actions under the Varnashrama Dharma concept.

Hindu Law = Hinduism = Hindutuva:

When the Bristishers asked for a law book for the native Indians other than Christians and Muslims, the Aryan Brahmins perfidiously gave them Manudharma Sastra. Sir William Jones, who was at that time, a Judge in the Supreme Court at Calcutta,  got the book of Manu Dharma Shastra, translated it from Sanskrit to English.

The Britishers accepted it as The Law book of the Indians or 'Hindu Law Book' and it was known as  Hinduism. The name 'Hinduism' was given to 'Hindu Law', which was formed on the principles of the book of Manu Dharma. The English word 'Hinduism' is now Known as 'Hindutvam' or 'Hindutva'.

What is Hinduism or Hindutva?:

'Hinduism' is a word coined by Britishers which stipulates a 'way of life' that accepts that (i) Aryans are superior by birth.(ii) Aryans are born to rule (iii) By birth Dravidians are duty bound to serve the Aryans and (iv) those Dravidians who oppose Aryans are their enemies or untouchables!

Lawbook of the Foreigners without religion:

In Northern India after the reign of Harsha, that is in the 7th c.A.D., the reign of ‘Huns’ started spreading and they are referred to as demonic hordes by the historians.

Huns were the cruel rulers who tyrannically suppressed and oppressed the Dravidians in northern India from 7th c.A.D. to 12th c.A.D.

During this period the 1) Persians 2) Greeks 3) Sakas 4) Romans 5) Kushans and the 6) Huns who came to India in different periods without any religion were united as Aryans (foreigners) and were ruling. During this time, the Aryan laws like Manudharma Sasthra, which elevate the Aryans (foreigners) and degrade the Dravidians (Indian) were devised.

Decisions of the Supreme Court and the statements of the Prime Minister:

The Supreme Court of India has given a judgement that 'Hinduism', i.e. 'Hindutva' is not a religion; but it is only a Way of Life. That means, Hinduism is not a religion. That is, Hinduism, is only a Way of Life. That way of life means, that Indians should accept that Aryans are superior by birth and that 88% of the Dravidian population of India, namely Shudras (BC) Panchamas ( SC/ST) are low by birth.

Sri. Atal Behari Vajpayee, the Honb'le Prime Minister of India, has stated that there is no theistic concept in 'Hindutva' i.e., Hindu religion

In the historical perspective, the term Brahminism  would be an apt alternative word for Hindutva. It is very obvious that Hindutva is nothing but Brahminism.  Maintenance of the caste discriminations,  the supremacy of the Brahmins and the slavery of  the Dravidians are the basic doctrinal aspect of Hindutva or Varnashrama Dharma .

 Religious clashes:

There is no place in India for those who oppose Manu Dharma.

It is the Brahmins who engineer religious clashes by preaching and declaring that the 'Religion of India is only Hindu religion’, that 'Hindu religion should be declared as the state religion' that 'India should not be a secular country', that ‘Christianity and Islam (which proclaim that all human beings are born equal - in contrast to the principles of Manu Dharma which enshrines inequality by birth) should be driven out of India’. It is the Brahmins who make Indians to hate these religions which preach equality by birth.

It has become very easy for the Aryan Brahmins to enslave Indian people in the name of 'Hindu religion', fully utilising their political power, their economic soundness and their full control and free access to the powerful propaganda media.

Hindu Religion -Hinduism:

‘Hindu Religion’ - Spiritual treasure of the Dravidians
‘Hindutism’ - Fetter of enslaving the Dravidians
‘Advaita’ - concept which says that ‘I am God’
‘There is God’ - Theistic concept
‘No God’ - Atheistic concept
‘I am God’ - Satanic concept of arrogance against God

Adi Sankara who was born in the end of 8th c.A.D. in Kaladi, a part of Chera country in Tamil Nadu, enslaved Saivism and Vaishnavism the religions of the bhakthi movement of Tamils to Varnashrama Dharma , the Aryan political concept.

Interpretations according to the Aryan political concept:

Adi Sankara has written interpretations according to the Aryan political concept to Bhagavad Gita, a part of Mahabharatha, written by Veda Vyasa, a Dravidian, to Brahma Sutra, written by Veda Vyasa and to the Upanishads, compiled by Veda Vyasa, in order to enslave the Dravidians.

Those interpretations are known as ‘Advaita Concept’ and Adi Sankara’s advaita concept justifies the Aryan political law. Hence this concept which degrades the Indians or Dravidians had a great reception amongst the Aryan rulers. Hence Adi Sankara established 4 mutts in all the four corners of India viz. in west (Gujarat-Dwaraka), in east (Orissa-Puri), in North (Uttarpradesh-Joshi) and in south (Karnataka-Sringeri), and till date they involve in all kinds of conspiracies in enslaving the Indian Dravidians and Hindu religion to the Aryan political law.

Later on a Sankara Mutt was also established in Kanchi and they are all involved in conspiracies against the Indians or the Dravidians and to the Hindu Religion or Dravidian religion.

Because of the conspiracies of the Sankara Mutts the following stages were developed.

It was made to believe that the Hindu Religion or Dravidian Religion or the religion of the Tamilians is of the Brahmins.
The political power of the Dravidian India is of the Kshatriyas, the second caste of the Aryans.
The economic power of the Dravidian India is of the Vaishyas, the third caste of the alien Aryans.
Amongst the Dravidians, those who were not able to oppose the domination of the aliens but accepted the way of life by leading a life of slavery are known as Sudras.
And the Dravidian religious political and leaders who opposed the alien domination were forced to live as enemies to the aliens as Panchamas (Untouchables). Thus accepting this way of life is devised as Hinduism.

Hindu Religion is the religion of the Tamilians:

As was mentioned earlier, though the term ‘Hindu Religion’ should refer to all the Indian religions, it refers in fact only to Saivism and Vaishnavism, which were subsequently brought under the control of the Aryan fire worship.  However, the term Hindu religion refers specifically to Saivism and Vaishnavism, which originated because of the bhakthi movement in Tamil Nadu. The bhakthi Movement that originated in Tamil Nadu is referred to as the religion of the Tamilians or the religion of the Dravidians or Hindu religion.

Taproot of the Hindu religion:

Doctrine of Avatar - God becoming a man in order to redeem human beings. (Unborn Prime God was born in order to give us eternal pleasure)
Trinity or Triune doctrine - God in triune stage - Appan, Ammai, Makan (Saivism); Siva, Vishnu, Brahma (Vaishnavism)
Doctrine of fulfillment of sacrifice - The offering of sacrifice has ceased even though there is sacrificial altar in the temple. People do not offer sacrifice while they worship God.
Doctrine of forgiveness of sin - There is forgiveness for the sins of human beings by the grace of God and this doctrine is totally controversial to the saying that ‘the actions of one person would definitely yield its fruits’.
Doctrine of bhakthi - Appreciating the bhakthi which is in ones heart irrespective of one’s appearance, color, culture etc. (Kannappa Nayanar)

The five doctrines mentioned above are the basic doctrines for the religion of the Tamils or the religion of the Dravidians or for the Hindu religion. These doctrines are the Taproots for Hindu religion (Saivism, Vaishnavism).

Thus the term ‘Hindu’ refers to ‘Dravidians’, the Indians, and the term Hindu religion refers to Saivism and Vaishnavism, the offshoots of bhakthi movement originated by the Dravidians, the Indians or the Tamilians. The five doctrines mentioned above are the taproot for the Hindu religion. Recent researches reveal that these five doctrines are of Christianity and Saivism, Vaishnavism are the offshoots of St.Thomas Christianity, that developed in Indian soil by the Indian Dravidians. Hence it is the religion of the Indian Dravidians.
