'VINAYAKA OR PILLAIYAR

Another name of Vinayaka is 'Pillayar' or son.  We all know as to whose son is Vinayaka.  He is Siva's son. Pillayar, the son, was born to 'Siva' through 'Sakti'.  We also know that Vinayaka was killed and made to live again by Siva - the Father Himself and that is how Vinayaka acquired the power to redeem the iniquities of people.  Thus we see Vinayaka died and ressurrected.  It is this very Vinayaka, whom Christians, in their language call as Jesus Christ.

Thus, We see that, it is our Vinayaka who redeem the sins of all people all over the world.  In different languages, there are differnent names to Vinayaka.

How to understand this?

There are seven names referred to in the family of Vinayaka  - the redeemer.  'Lord Kumaran' is the younger  brother of Pillayar.   Both Pillayar and Kumaran are children of 'Sakti'.  Pillayar, the son, helped Lord Kumaran  to marry 'Valli' .  The location of Sakti is the left - side of the body of Siva.  The location of Vishnu is also the same where sakti is located in the body of Siva.  Therefore, if we invoke the left side of the Body of Siva as a female, it is Sakti and as a male, it is Vishnu.  There are two children.  Brahman and Ayyappan to Vishnu. Thus we see that Siva has two children, each through Sakti and Vishnu.  In all, in the family of Vinayaka, the redeemer, there are seven entities.  The four children of Siva are distinct in four different ways:-

1.        Lord Kumaran         -    Who defeated Sooran, ie., who defeated the evil

2.        Vinayaka                   -    Who died and resurrected

3.        Brahman                    -    Who created the world

4.        Ayyappan                 -    Who is the light (People ascend 18 steps to have a                                                     glimpse of the seat of light)

Six qualities of the Same God

God in the form of 'Father', 'Mother' and  'Son' represent the concept of Somaskantha.

God in the form of 'Siva', 'Vishnu' and 'Brahman' represent the concept of Trinity.

Thus, even though we come across seven different names of 'Siva', 'Sakti', 'Kumaran', Vinayaka', 'Vishnu', 'Brahman' and 'Ayyappan' it would be wrong to attribute that they are seven different Gods.  It would simply mean the six different attributes of the same God.  The single name of the single God is 'Siva'.

The conceptualisation that  the left side of Siva is Vishnu and that Brahma is located at the Navel of Vishnu is nothing but to symbolise that to triune Godhead is not separate three Gods; but only one God operating in three different forms.  Thus, it is evident that Siva is the single God functioning in six forms.

Sivalinga

The Sivalinga installed in the Sanctum Sanctorum of the Siva temple illustrates the concept that Siva does not have any image.  We know that the Sivalinga does not have nay image of eye, nose, mouth of either humans, animals or birds.  It is simply the symbol of holy grace.

It is this holy symbol of Grace of Lord Siva that is being adored by people all over the world.  (Those who do not recognise this divine significance attribute insinuating interpretation to Sivalinga out of their ignorance and malice.  Such people are aliens (foreigners) who are unable and unwilling to understand Siva - the God).

Dravidian Worship and Dravidian Religion

Sivalinga was worshipped by Dravidians in the Indus Valley civilization.  Worship in the Bible has been evolved from Sivalinga worship.  We find Sivalinga worship in the Bible in six places, Bethel, Shechem, Sinai, Gilgal, Mispah and Ebenezar.  In the Bible, Sivan is named as Yahweh in Hebrew language.  In Qu-r-An, which was evolved later, Sivan is named as Allah in Arabic language.  Muslims from all over the world make the Haj Pilgrimage to Mecca to worship Sivalinga - the holy Kaba stone which is located only in that particular mosque.

The form of the Holy word and the Holy sound 'Om'

Thus the one and the only God is called by three names Siva, Yahweh and Allah in three separate languages of Tamil, Hebrew and Arabic respectively.  God is only one.  He does not have any image.  The 'Holy sound of 'Om' which has taken the form of Vinayaka (the Son or Pillayar in Tamil) by the Holy power of Siva is the one who will redeem all the people from all their iniquities.

In other words, God the Father, redeems all the people of the world from all their iniquities through His son who died and resurrected.  If we understand this spiritual Truth, all our iniquities will be cleansed.

Politics

Instead of making use of Vinayaka to cleanse us from our iniquities, if we use his name for politics, we will only generate hatred, conflicts and perpetual sufferings and end up in total destruction.

Do we want such a situation?  Should we fall prey to such self destruction because some vested interests instigate such hatred and conflicts?

Spiritualism

We should rise above politics. We should rise above religions.  We should recognise common truth.  We should search and find out spiritual truth.  If we will realise this, our iniquities will be cleansed by Vinayaka's grace and we can lead a joyful life on this world as well as in the other.  It will be a life, living happily, in togetherness.
