Deborah sat against the trunk of a tree in the area she had marked off for the Bishen dragon she hoped for. The area she had designated for the dragon was very large, and covered about half a square mile.

The day was very nice. The sun was out, and the light flitted through the leaves, dancing across the girl's face. The birds sent their wordless songs into the air, filling it with a beautiful soft music. A few butterflies drifted from flower to flower, their wings beating lazly in the soft breeze. A few forest animals drifted under the bushes, collecting the berries and fruit.

Next to her lay the nest she had made, still empty. Off a ways lay the pile of toys and gems, untoutched since the moment she had set them down. It had been a little more than a week since she had gotten everything ready for the dragon, but still no sign of a clutch coming. Deborah sighed impatently, then scolled herself.

Poor Juliette, She thought to herself. She is the one who has to carry the eggs. I shouldn't be so restless. The eggs will come when they come.

As if summonded by her thoughts, Fae rushed in, looking flustered. Deborah jumped to her feet, fearing that one of her bondmates was hurt or sick, but Fae smiled at her, and she relaxed. Fae hurried to her friend's side.

"This just came. A rider brought it." The elf handed her a sealed envlope. A wax seal bearing the Bishen Realm's crest held the paper shut. She broke the seal and read the contents quickly.

"Ah!" She gasped, and turned to Fae. "Juliette clutched a few days ago! The mother is doing fine, and the eggs are ready for adoption! Bishen is taking applications!" She paused, and read a few more lines. "Also, another pair clutched at the same time.  Both are up for adoption at once!"  she turned, preparing to leave, "I'll be back in an hour or so!" And with that, she dissapeared in a flurry of wind.

A little over an hour later, Deborah returned.

"Well, I did it. I sent in the form. Now all we can do it wait." Fae nodded. Just wait...

About a week later, a message came to the Forest bearing the Bishen Realm's insignia.  Deborah ripped the letter open and read the contents, eyes darting across the page quickly.  At first her face was impsive as Fae watched her read it.  Then, her eyes lit up and her face began to shine.  She turned to Fae, beging to giggle.

"We got an egg!"  A shocked look came across Fae's face.  She hurried to where her friend stood and looked over her shoulder at the letter.  Deborah read a few more lines from the letter.  "It says that the egg will be from Juliette & Kashi's clutch.  How wonderful!!  I will have to let Desiree know right away.  I bet Kashi will want to visit his new..." she scaned the letter again "... daughter!  Oooo!  A girl!  This is so exciting.  I've got to tell Desiree."  Before she could run off, Fae grabbed her arm.

"Wait a moment.  Does it say when the egg is coming?  Are we needed to pick it up, or is it being delivered?"  Deborah read the last bit of the letter.

"According to this I need to pick it up."  She gave a bright smile to Fae.  "I'll do that now, while I'm out telling Des."  The young woman dissappeared into the trees, leaving Fae smiling at the prospect of the baby girl Bishen soon to arive...

When Deborah returned she carried with her an egg.  It was small, so small that the girl had no problem carring the small thing in her arms.  The egg was a dark blue in color with inconsistant lighter blue spots dashed about it's smooth surface.

Deboah carried the egg to the nest they had made for it, and gently, oh so gently, set it in the center.  She bunched some of the material around the edges so the little egg would stay warm and wouldn't roll away.

Deborah knelt next to the nest and placed her hand atop the egg's blue surface, feeling the warmth of life beneth the hardness of the shell.  When the creature within the egg stirred beneith her toutch it gave her pause.  For several long minuets she stayed like that, simply enjoying the contact between herself and the egg.  That was how Fae found her friend.

The elf came over quietly, as to not shatter the moment that gripped the human.  She looked up when Fae neared enough for her to notice the elf's presense.  Fae knelt next to her.  Deborah moved her hand away so that she might feel the warmth of life as well.

"I'm happy for you."  Deborah smiled at the words.

"I'm happy too."

When Fae had left to attend other matters within the Forest, Deborah stayed, just sitting with her egg.
I wonder when the little one inside will grace us with her presense.  What color will she be?  What type?  Will she have wings, or legs, or both?  What will she be like, personality wise?  Kind, mischivious, humorous?  Will she like the home I made for her?  What about a name?  How am I ever going to decide that? The wish to know filled her mind with a thousand questions.  Come soon, little one, come soon or I'll go mad trying to see into the future.  She smiled softly.  "I'm glad your home.  I've waited so long for you to arrive."  She stayed there for the rest of the day, simply being with her new unborn dragon.  "Heh... I've just met you and I already love you so much.  Kind of funny, don't you think?"
