Here's where I talk about some bands I think are noteworthy. Most of them are in the Dark, Aggressive, Satanic Metal sphere, but that's certainly not all I listen to. In all honesty, I like a lot of different music. One day it could be Death Metal or Black Metal, the next it could be something sweet and soft like Dead Can Dance. It could be Punk or Hardcore. Weird Industrial. Goth. Sometimes even old Classic Rock finds itself on my stereo. Here's some groups I think are worth looking into......
What more needs be said about the Frosties that hasn't already been said. If you haven't already checked out my tribute page to them, click their logo to see "The Church of CELTIC FROST" page. "ARE YOU MORBID?" UUUUUUUGH!!!
And now for a little shameless self-promotion, here's my own band, NEKROMANTIK KURSE. We've been broken up now for over two years, but you can see what we did manage to accomplish. I've got a new band now,  but I'll always remember Nekro-Kurse fondly. It was a learning experience to be sure. To check out my new band, ANATOLIAN WISDOM, check out the bottom of this list. HAILS 666!!!
Death Metal Blasphemers INCANTATION have been grindin' out their doom-laden , satanic dirges since the early '90's. I personally like all the stuff with Craig Pillard on vox myself, but the same foreboding, ominous riffs still plod along with ever-present impending doom. Click the logo to go to their official site......
Satanic Death Metallers MORBID ANGEL have been churning out their demonic overtures to darkness since '84. Nearly 20 years later, they still compose sick, disturbing riffage that seems to always manifest an evil grin on my face. Click their logo to go their official site......
"Volley-ball, Join me! Slowly We Dwell! Slowly We Dwellll!" Are about the only words I remember for sure off of OBITUARY's "Slowly We Rot". Regardless they remain one of my favourite Death Metal bands; with the dirgy Celtic Frost influenced riffing and John Tardy's distinct Death-growl style.
American Death Metal gods, CANNIBAL CORPSE have been shredding out their brand of ear-bleeding mayhem since the late 80's. Check out their official site...
Simply stated, MORTICIAN are the heaviest Death metal band ever, if not the heaviest on earth! Will Rahmer's ultra-low gutteral growls and heavy-as-$#*% bass rumble could very well wake the dead. If you look on the back of "Hacked Up For Barbecue", you'll see Will wearing an AVULSED t-shirt with MY artwork on it. Oh, but to bask in the glow of reflected glory! Click the image to visit their official website. .
This was the band I did my first album cover for. Brutally heavy Death / Thrash metal. Check out their site to see what they've been up to these days...
AVULSED are a brutal, grinding Death/Gore metal band from Madrid, Spain. Their vocalist, Dave Rotten, used to run Drowned Productions which later became Repulse Records.
GOATSBLOOD play a slow, sludgy, doomy kind of Death Metal that makes me think of old AUTOPSY on valium. Killer stuff! Their vocalist, Blair, was one of Nekro-Kurse's biggest supporters. Cheers, guys!
EVOKEN play Ethereal, Haunting Doom/Death metal and are simply one the best bands out there playing this style of music. Heavy atmospherics and eerie keyboards compliment their compositions beautifully. Visit their official homesite and if you haven't yet heard their "Embrace The Emptiness" CD, do so SOON.
Love 'em or hate 'em, TYPE O NEGATIVE are one of the very few bands who can play "Goth Metal" effectively. A lot of the imitators they've spawned don't even half measure up. Their original stuff is cool, but I like a lot of the covers they've done like: BLACK SABBATH's "Black Sabbath", DEEP PURPLE's "Highway Star", etc., etc......

LAIBACH are from Eastern Europe and are an underground cult sensation. Largely known for their covers of Beatles and Rolling Stones tunes, these guys have a morbidly perverse way of taking an ordinary-sounding Pop-song and making it sound sinister. A killer band. Great stuff!
are a wicked non-Metal band from the UK
and are just plain one of my favourite bands, period. With Dean Garcia's dreamy, lush-sounding compositions and Toni Halliday's hauntingly beautiful voice, CURVE creates walls of gorgeous sound. Good stuff to smoke...uh...'stuff'' to.
FINALLY! After over two years of bitching and whining that I was without a band, I've joined local Black Metallers, ANATOLIAN WISDOM, as their vocalist. A.W. play totally Occult, underground Black metal and should have plenty to offer the die-hards out there. We've just finished recording our first album at The Art Institute of Vancouver/Burnaby. It should unleashed upon the masses around March/April of 2005. Check out our site for a free MP3 in the 'Press' section. Also, we've just played our show with Demyse and Descention on November 12th, 2004 at The Asbalt to a cheering crowd. HAILS 666!!
