And so the countdown begins. In one week I'll be on a flight to Korea. Between now and then I have a lot of researching to do. I have to create an agenda and schedule of things I'd like to do.

I got my new credit card in the mail today. I was getting worried because my current one expires at the end of this month. My parents told me when traveling overseas, it's better to charge items rather than pay cash for them because supposedly the credit card company gives you a better exchange rate.

Anyway over the weekend I stayed over at my brother's place in VA. My parents were also there, and one thing my dad wanted to do was make a small gift for the new baby. So he had my brother put together a few pictures together to create a mosaic of pictures for the background of a clock. One of the pictures my dad insisted on was a naked picture of Soomin, one that showed his "assets" if you catch my drift. It's definitely one of those older-generation things...because my dad wanted to use a picture that was pretty revealing whereas my brother didn't want to look up at someone wee-wee everytime he wanted the time. So anyway we were talking to my mom about it...and I had mentioned to her that in this day and age, you gotta be careful about that kind of thing because even parents can get arrested for child pornography. My mom said some stuff but me and my brother were a little stumped when my mom said something about child forn. Me and my brother exchange a puzzled look...child forn? What was my mom trying to say. So my mom timidly repeated herself a couple more times...and then we realized my mom was trying to say CHILD PORN. We laughed at my mom (yeah yeah, it's kind of mean, I know). Korean people have such a difficult time with making the P and F sound. Same with B and V, and with R and L. My cousin used to have a hard time pronouncing people and fire. Instead he would say feofle and pire. And also at Han-ah-reum (the asian grocery chain), the employees, wrote up signs that said Presh Corn and Presh Peanuts. I know it can be very discouraging when people laugh at your English, but it's just so funny. I try not to get too upset when people make fun of my Korean.

Had a group meeting this afternoon. My manager was at the meeting too. I had a hard time staying awake, and so I think my manager might have seen me dozing off a few times. That's bad considering that employee evaluations are coming up soon. My manager knows that I really want to get onto the KDX program. I think he might even know that I want to go to Korea so bad that I might leave the company to do so. So I wonder if he would purposely keep me off the project hoping that I would quit.

Updating my blog these days seems harder and harder. I can't think of anything interesting or good to write.

So I wake up this morning (Tuesday morning) kind of late. I had to go to the main plant to get a new ID card made. I left my old one in a friends car. It was kind of getting old too.

On monday I woke up at 5:30 and dropped my parents off at BWI and drove straight to work. I was supposed to be at work at 8am, but arrive until 9:30am. Thankfully a co-worker that was working with me was able to cover me. When I got home I was pretty tired and ended up going to be pretty early. Even with all the sleep I still got up late.

In about a week I'm going to Korea, and I still haven't made adequate preperations yet. I was going to start planning last night, but it's 1:21 on Wednesday morning and I still haven't made many preparations. I hope I have a good time there.

So yesterday I woke up and look around the kitchen for something to eat. There was really nothing to eat. Their fridge was so sparse and nothing in the pantry either. There was a small piece of chocolate cake sitting on the dinner table. Just a tiny wedge remained in the large plastic cake container. It was just calling out to me. So I cut a small piece about 1" thick and washed it down with some coffee. It was a little dry/stale, but still sweet. I also found some prunes in the pantry and finished those since I thought I was a bit back-up if you know what I mean.

A little while later we had lunch. My mom had prepared some 미역국 (seaweed soup)...which happens to be my favorite. Incidently though it's a korean tradition to feed the mother this soup as she recuperates from child birth.

Then right after eating lunch I had to go to the bathroom. Either I ate something really bad or those prunes were super-duper stength because I unloaded like Niagara Falls. Within a one hour period I had to run to the bathroom about 4 or 5 times.

I tried not to eat or drink anything for the rest of the day until my system felt a little more regular. At night I was able to talk to my brother and I asked him about the cake. He told me it was from the baby shower. I was like...when was that? And he tells me 3 WEEKS AGO!!! 3 WHOLE WEEKS this chocolate cake has just been sitting there on the dining room table at room temperature! I asked them why they didn't just throw it away, and they tell me because it looked so good to throw away. So anyway I take a closer look at the left over cake and discover little white spots growing on the other side. I ATE 3 WEEK-OLD MOLDY CHOCOLATE CAKE. It's little wonder why my system just flushed everything out. That was the worst case of diarrhea I've had in a LOOONG time. I think I found the newest and most improved recipe for Exlax.

So the next time you visit my brother's place and they offer you food, ask first how old it is. ha ha ha.

Happy Birthday Eugene!!! He's now really old. Not to mention the fact that he's an uncle too. Someone please find him a girlfriend before he becomes too accustomed to his single freedom-filled lifestyle.

So on Friday I get up to go to work. I stop by the gas station to pick up a drink and realize I have no money in my wallet. I resort to running to my car to get some change. How embarrassing. Working from 12 to 8pm was dreadful. After 2pm I was soooo ready to go back home. Someone I stuck it out all the way til 7pm when they finally called the end of the test shot. Came home and fixed up a quick dinner, packed up, and left for BWI to pick up my parents.

Finally when I got to Dulles toll road I see this guy tailing my rear, and I just knew it was a cop. You can just tell by the headlights and turnsignals. Sure enough after a couple of minutes of tailing me (probably to get close enough to read my tag numbers) I see the bright, flashy, colorful lights turn on. This is only the 2nd time I've ever been pulled over (3rd time if you count the time that I was already in the parking lot and asked a cop walking by if parking there okay, but then noticed my expired inspection sticker). So anyway my dad wakes up from his nap and is a little dazed. The cop tells me why he pulled me over (it's illegal in the state of Virginia to drive with a neon kit) and asks for my license and registration. I can't find my registration in the glove compartment and my dad opens the door and steps out despite the cops request that my dad stay inside and close the door. I'm a little annoyed my dad is giving the cop more reason to give me a ticket. I think my brother in Boston cleared out my glove compartment because I couldn't find squat in there. GIVE MY STUFF BACK EUGENE. So the cop comes back and lets me off the hook. Tells me to keep the lights off. Seriously, do these cops have nothing better to do? I can think of about a hundred or so cars that were passing me, but he chooses to pull me over??? That's another reason why I had the DC area and would NEVER EVER think about moving here. Everything here seems too federalized and bureaucratic.

Finally get to my brother's place around 1am and walk up to thier bedroom to greet them and see the new baby. My mom eagerly picks up the baby and makes him cry. Mom still thinks she's got the nurturing skills to quiet Soomin down. Surprisingly my brother says he's already learned how to quiet the baby down. To our amazement he holds the baby in a certain way and instantly Soomin stops crying. Mad props to Brian.

This morning as I naturally wake up, I open my eyes and see the ceiling and light coming through the window...and I slowly look to my right side and all of a sudden I see my mom's face hovering over me, which scares the crap out of me. I guess my mom was just standing there watching me sleep. My mom laughs at me for being scared so easily.

I hope my roommate doesn't mind me posting this, but this is a little bit of dialogue between the both of us that I thought was funny.
Shao : Do you want to hear something?
Don : What.
Shao : *He farts*
Don : *Trying not to acknowledge that* Huh?
Shao : *He farts again*
Don : *Annoyed, but trying to see if he can fart again* Huh?!?!
Shao : *Slight pause* Don't make me crap in my pants.
Don : hu hu hu.

After work I met up with some friends at Soo-won-sung for dinner around 7pm. I learned that soh-gom goo-ee, has nothing to do with salt and meat. But anyhow everyone enjoyed it. Dinner was fun until someone got drunk. After that point I stopped enjoying our time together. I wanted to go home after that, but they all wanted to go to noh-reh-bang...so we went. It was actually a lot of fun and we stayed there for a long time singing song after song.

Now it's 1:45am and I need to go to bed. Gotta go to DC tomorrow night. Good night ;)

A couple of months ago I decided to do the same but I bought one of those cheap old-school gel-type air-fresheners with the cone top that moves up and down. I thought i'd place it behind my computer where the warm air from the computer fan would circulate the scent throughout the cube. Oddly enough I couldn't really smell the scent very well...so I decided to open it up all the way. The next day or two I realized there really wasn't any smell, and so I looked back behind the computer only to find out that the gel had COMPLETE dried up. I thought that stuff was supposed to last weeks, but in a matter of a day it dried up completely.

So a few days ago I decided to get a different type of air freshener. An oil based freshener. I decided to go for the more expensive Air-Wick Decosphere Mango scented freshener.

It works very well but I think I got the wrong scent because the sweet smell makes me want to eat something all the time. Although I'm not hungry, I feel like someone is holding a piece of juicy fruit right in front of me and I gotta eat it.

Yesterday morning, or afternoon rather I woke up because my roommate had come back home for lunch!!! Ha ha ha. I didn't really care since I had to work from 8pm to midnight. I went into work from 1-5pm and then again from 8pm-midnight. It's kind of nice to be able to work like that.

The other day I got a random message from a stranger that had looked up my profile on Friendster. I think he's some kind of Chinese international student. He wanted to be my friend because I'm Christian and I have a strong background in engineering!!! Feeling just a little bit creeped out.

BTW...check out the link of the week. It's got some pretty neat illusions, but I honestly can't see all of them.

I had a BIZARRE dream last night. I was dreamed that I was at a friends place. Well I wouldn't really say a friend, so much as an aquaintance of mine from Jr. high school. Anyway I was at Tiffany's apartment hanging out with other folks, and I had to go take a leak. I looked for the bathroom and found this strange small portable toilet. Actually it looked more like one of those baby potty things where you basically empty the container by hand...but somehow it looked like it something you could find in Asia, light baby blue color with those silly anime characters on the side like Hello Kitty or something. So I unzipped and started to do my business...but then I realized the container was too small and I was still going. So I tried really hard and stopped mid-stream to empty the container into the sink. I then continued my business again. The same thing happened again. This container was either really small or I had a big bladder. So anyway I repeat the process, but then as I begin to relieve myself again I realize I'm peeing all over someone's make-up supplies. Somehow the miniature toilet turned into a container full of make-up. I just keep on going and saw the name of another person I knew in college. I was peeing all over Shikiko's personal effects. And I didn't think enough to stop peeing all over her stuff. How bizarre is that!!!

Anyway I woke up really late today. Basically got up at noon today, but that's partly because I have to work from 8pm to midnight. Gotta do the same thing tomorrow too.

This past weekend was fun. Friday I went to a wedding rehearsal. I was an usher for Scott and Debbie's wedding. After the rehearsal we had dinner nearby. I went to church after that to hang out with some folks, but they all went to a small diner, and since I had already eaten and there was not enough space at the table I decided to go back home. Saturday I woke up and went to the wedding. It was a nice small wedding. It was very short too. The whole thing was done within the hour. Went across the street to a restaurant for the reception. It was nice and cozy. I think the rain even made it feel more cozy since their was even a open oven fire in the kitchen you could see.

After the reception a few of us drove up to NYC. We get there around 7:30 for dinner at Yama. After that we head out to a place called Club Wha?. It was actually pretty interesting and funny...but we kind of left early to make it to Camel. We ended up getting a room up on the second floor away from the main area. It wasn't as much fun as before but I still had a good time. I even sang a few songs on the karaoke machine, except it was only in front of a few people. There was this one guy and girl that song sooo well. I wanted to meet the girl, but I couldn't really see her face too well. After that we went back to the hotel. I got to sleep on the nice comfortable floor. Someone who shall remain nameless had the whole bed to sleep on. ARGH. The next morning I could feel the stiffness in my back.

I kind of felt bad because we all missed church. I wanted to go to church but I don't think anyone else planned on going. I had my alarm set too, but obviously shut it off as soon as I heard it. After everyone woke up they all made fun of my feable attempt to go to church. Before leaving me and Eugene traded cars again. It felt so weird to drive stick shift again. The car feels very low too. Almost feels like just sitting on the ground. I haven't bottomed out yet but I'm sure it'll happen soon. I'll find out once I have 4 people in my car.

Drove home and almost fell asleep several times behind the wheel. When I got home I took a nap. I woke up to a call from a friend and realized I was late for a dinner appointment. Quickly got dressed and headed out to her place for dinner. It was a nice gesture of gratitude since I helped her out with her computer problems. I guess I was still really tired because I started to doze off at her place too. I went home and went right into bed again. I got lots of rest that night.

Yesterday I was at work all day. Left at 8am got back home at 7pm. Had to stay at work late to finish an employee self-assessment form which will be used in upcoming employee evaulations. I hope I do well this time around.

Another night of some really good sleeping. Didn't wake up until like 10:30am and didn't even hear my alarm go off. All because I'm having some really good dream sessions. As usual I usually forget what I dreamed about after a few minutes, so unless I write down what I was dreaming right as soon as I wake up, I will forget by the time I brush my teeth. That's the nature of short-term memory...unless you actively think or rehearse something, your thoughts in short-term memory degrade very easily.

This morning I bought lunch from the cafeteria. It's a small set-up and food is brought in from another building. Today's lunch was these Turkey slices wrapped around steamed broccoli smothered in gravy with cooked carrots and wild rice. It was actually pretty good, but I couldn't finish it, and dumped the rest of it.

One thing I hate about myself when it comes to food is that a lot of times I don't finish all my food. Before I used to just save it and eat it for later, but more and more I find myself just dumping the food. I think part of the reason is because this is done a lot at our apartment. Some of the people at my apartment are very wasteful when it comes to food. I think this is rubbing off on me. I'm trying really hard to maintain my eating habits from before, but over time, I've changed. I like soft bland foods over hard and spicy foods, and I avoid stuff that leaves a residue in my mouth like chocolate. Someone even told me I was a picky eater, and that really made me upset, but she was right. I have become very picky about what I eat but not really out of choice.

I'M GOING TO KOREA!!! Just bought my ticket. I'm leaving Oct. 2nd coming back Oct. 16th. 2 weeks of pure unadulterated fun. Hopefully my health will hold up. Got my ticket for cheap too. Total of $733 with United with stop-over in San Francisco. Now I gotta find my passport, and plan what I'm going to do.

I woke up at 7am this morning. I had some really good dreams. Obviously I don't remember them now but I do remember waking up and thinking...that was a good sleep. I got to the test site at 8am. At 8:46am we had a moment of silence. I worked at the test site all day.

After work I stopped by Han-ah-reum to pick up some food. Yujin and Lynnette was already eating fast food. So I was about to warm up some left overs when Scott called me. They were nearby and didn't have dinner yet so I invited them over and I cooked dinner for them. Yujin with his insatiable appetite ate with us AGAIN. This is after he came back from his doctor's appointment with his cholesterol report...which was high. Someone please teach him some self-control.

Wednesday, September 10, 2003

So after work today I went straight to church for a praise team meeting. I stopped by McDonald's and wanted to pick up 2 Big Macs for $3. But I didn't think I'd have time to eat 2 Big Macs so I just got a soda and a McChicken sandwich.

After the meeting Billy and I go up to the computer room to look at the equipment. The third floor is completely dark, but we turn on the lights. We walk into the computer room, and Billy comments that we really should get a lock for the door since there's no lock and we got lots of computers in that room. They are old computers, but still maybe someone would find it worthwhile to take them. So we look around for a couple of minutes until off the corner of my eye I see this hairy thing move across the table. Curious, I look under the table and see two little kids hiding behind the table. Both me and Billy are a little surprised. I think Billy was upset because he grilled the kids with questions...and he even said, "You aren't authorized to be here". When he said that I wanted to burst out in laughter. If my throat didn't hurt so much I think I would have. They were just little kids, probably playing hide and seek or something, and Billy is scolding the kids and using words like "authorized". So now we are DEFINITELY going to get a lock for that room. he he he. Something is really weird about those kids hiding there. I hope they were just playing around and not homeless or something.

So on my way home I stop by McDonald's and buy two Big Macs. I really wanted to eat Big Macs. 2 of them for $3 isn't such a bad deal either. However when I got home I opened them up and it didn't smell so good, and then I ate them and they didn't taste so good. These days I really don't enjoy eating fast food.

Just tried to find this guys head in a pile of beans. It's supposed to be some kind of test. It would appear that my right brain is borderline normal to slow. It took me a little over a minute to find the dude's head. Give it a try and post your times. Check out this link Coffee Bean Head.

I didn't go to bed until after 4am last night so I didn't hear my alarm go off this morning...which was set kind of early. My roommate had to wake me up to get me to shut off my alarm. Part of the reason I was having a hard time getting up is because I was having a nice dream. I don't remember most of my dream but I do remember the part where I'm laying down in the grass with my blanket pulled up over me, and watching people paying their respects at a memorial for local folks who died on 9/11.

Drove to the UPS center to pick up a package. They are H1 headlight bulbs for my car, but I don't think I need them anymore since I think my brother converted my headlights to HID.

Here is a blurb from an article about the guy who mailed himself home via cargo. The stupid thing is that he paid more than he would have with a regular passenger ticket. It cost $550 to ship himself...the same rate as a first-class ticket. Now the question is WHY? This also leads to the quote of the day:

Other than the federal statute, District Attorney Bill Hill said he could not cite any law that McKinley broke.
"He violated the law of stupidity if nothing else," Hill said.

Ha ha ha!!!

Tuesday, September 9, 2003

Today I thought I was supposed to work from 4-8pm, but when I got to the test site, my test lead told me I was supposed to work from 8-midnight. She made a mistake on the test schedule. So I went home at 6pm for dinner. Yujin and Lynnette made mi-yok-gook for dinner. I went back to work at 8pm. Fortunately for me though nothing seemed to be working at the test site, and no one could fix it...so they called it quits and let everyone go home. So I left around 9:30pm.

Now I'm at home trying to fix a friends computer. I'm still not quite sure what happened, but her harddrive got corrupted. I tried to scan it for viruses, but it only scanned 3 files...because that's all it could recognize. I couldn't even look into the directories. Man is her computer jacked up. I'm going to just reinstall the OS.

My throat is really beginning to hurt, and I don't think it's getting better even though I'm taking the medicine.

Wow...this morning I woke up LATE. I think I went to bed around 2am or something, and I got up at 11:30am...and what's scary is that I could have kept on sleeping several more hours I think. I have to work until 8pm which is why I didn't bother waking up too early today.

I'm in the market for another computer. My company has this kind of PC Loan program where you can purchase a computer and they'll deduct incrimental payments out of your paycheck over the next 2 years. So I'm looking to get a Media Center computer. Currently I'm only aware of Gateway and HP that makes these kinds of computers...and HP media centers looks like the better deal. If you have any recommendations please leave a comment.

One of my right fingers is sore because on Sunday while I was eating a crab, I bit into it, and it poked back at me. One of it's thorns poked into my finger and broke, so I had a piece of crab shell sticking out of my finger. Everyone just kind of laughed around me.

Was going to buy my plane tickets tonight, but came home late from work, took too much time to cook dinner and watched the football game. Eagles got schooled by the Bucs in their opening day at Lincoln Financial Field. That's got to be one lousy way to open up the season.

These days I'm actually making and effort to eat whatever I can. I think also my appetite has increased, because now I find myself constantly in the kitchen looking for something to snack on.

Weekend Update
I actually didn't waste my Saturday like I did with my last two Saturdays. Went to work for a little bit, and then met up with a friend in Philly. It was such a beautiful day so we walked around Penn's Landing. There were lots of people there. Went to watch Bad Boys 2 after that. It was a neat movie but drawn out way too long. I almost feel asleep even amid the barrage of action sequences...that's how long the movie was. After that went to eat a late dinner at Vietnam Restaurant. It was good.

Sunday woke up extra early because Ben Franklin Bridge was closed and had to detour all the way to Betsy Ross Bridge. Didn't feel too good about the job I did for projection. I screwed up way too many times. Anyway after service a few of us went to lunch in NJ. In all my years in Philly, we have never had lunch in NJ after service. We only ate in NJ because I forgot to bring something for a friend, and so we decided to stop by my apartment after lunch to pick it up. We went to Han-Chon in Cherry Hill. Unfortunately they didn't have Sul-lung-tang. Made a quick stop at Han-ah-reum which was just next door and went back to my apartment. After that we all wetn to Ed and Dave's place for Scott's bachelor party. We basically just had crabs, ribs, oysters, and cereal :)

Saturday, September 6, 2003

So Friday night went by okay. Met up with my small group again with a couple new members. After the meeting they all decided to go eat in Chinatown. I wanted to hang out with some of my friends since it feels like it's been such a long time since we've all hung out together as a group...but they decided to go to SoHo. I was hungry and wanted to eat something so I decided not to go with them. I ended up going to Chinatown with my roommate's small group...but he didn't end up going since he had to be with his girlfriend. My goodness...I'll probably get a little heat for this, but some people just need to grow a backbone or show a little bit more leadership.

Anyway on my way back from the restaurant to my car I was crossing the street and I saw 3 asian guys at the corner. In the middle of the night, in the heart of Chinatown, and 3 guys vs. me...I tend to avoid eye contact and just briskly go along my merry way. So I pass these guys, and all of a sudden one of them calls out to me. Surprised I look around and I didn't recognize them at first, but then I realized one of them was in my small group. He was new and it was my first time meeting him. It was kind of a awkward situation.

On my way home I had just crossed the Ben Franklin Bridge and there was this one Black Mustang that flew past me. I began to speed up because I figured if there are any police around, that guy will get pulled over before I would. And sure enough, about 1 mile down the road, a cop pulls out from one of the parking lot in a big hurry because as he turns, he fish-tails all over the road. It seriously looked like a scene out of the movies. It was pretty cool. Anyway that made my night.

Coco...this is just for you.

So tonight I went home a little bit earlier and cooked dinner for our multimedia committee. On the menu was Shu-mai, man-doo, sausage with vegetables, and ton-kat-su, we also ordered some lo-mein, egg foo-young, and shrimp in black bean sauce from a chinese place. We had just enough food. Even had watermelon to top that off.

After dinner we had our web meeting and just talked about some stuff. Didn't do too much after that. I talked on the phone with a friend for over 2 hours. I love it when I'm able to use up my minutes like that. Makes me feel like I'm getting my money's worth. Unfortunately though that's about as long as I can talk on the cell before the battery dies out. The battery life on my phone just sucks big time.

Here is the next phone I want to have. I've had it in mind for a little while...but the bad thing about it is I'm not sure what I'd do with my old phone. It's kind of getting old, and I'm not sure anyone would want it. I'm constantly having to reset the screen because it becomes so misaligned. Maybe my brother would. This will be my next phone, Kyocera 7135. I do take contributions for the "Get Don a Kyocera smartphone" Fund.

Last night I stopped by Han-ah-reum and bought some food for dinner, and also for tonight. I'm having the multimedia committee meeting at my apartment. I'm going to cook dinner for them. Anyway yesterday I made some bi-bim-bap and some tuna sa-shi-mi. I pretty much vegged out for the rest of the night. I finally fell asleep around 2 or 3am...but I still wasn't really tired.

This morning I was really lazy about getting up and finally made it into work at 11am. Even with all that rest I still dozed off at work. I want to think it's the Thalidomide that I'm taking (which causes drowsiness) but most likely it's not.

So anyway on my chatterbox, I get a message a from Coco. I don't know who this person is, but Coco inquires about a song called Friends by Ahn Jae Wook. Coco wants to know what the lyrics mean. I start to do a search online for lyrics to this song, and I find my website listed on the first page of search results on Google!!! I mean it's kind of cool, but kind of disturbing at the same time. I feel like I gotta watch what I write down.

Most of the time I don't really think people care what I have to say, but sometimes I'm surprised at who reads my blog. I've had a random person email me about reading my blog. Although it was strange, what was cool was that the person sympathized with my situation and tried to encourage me. It really was neat. So if you are reading this weblog, and you've never left a comment on my chatterbox, please do so now ------------------>>>>

Last night I zonked out. It was one of those kinds of feelings I get when I'm not trying to fall asleep at work. One second your eyes are open, but the next you're in this pseudo sleep where you are dreaming about what you are doing right then and there. For example I was laying in bed watching TV, and half falling asleep dreaming that my roommate was bugging me. Then a loud noise on TV would wake me up and I'd be completely alone. The point is that I basically fell asleep before my head hit the sack...oh man that was a good feeling.

Last night I also started taking Thalidomide. I think I'll be on it for the next month. I have this huge apthous ulcer in the back of my throat which now covers part of my epiglotis (that funny thing that hangs down the middle of your throat)...so eating or talking isn't so fun these days. If I don't feel like talking to you, don't take it personally.

So anyway I forgot to mention on Monday when we went bowling, everyone wanted to pick out aliases for themselves. I was "The Don". There was a "Suzy Q", and some of the funnier ones was Sarah's name "Drug Enforcer". It didn't make any sense, until I remembered she was a Pharmacist. Then there was Laura's name "Laid Off" because she had just recently gotten laid-off. When she told me the news I responded with "Oh...I'm sorry", but she was estatic over the news. She had been wanting to quit for a while, but instead she gets laid off which means she gets a severance package, and benefits. Good for her. Then the best one I think was "Crackhead". Because Jenny had recently gotten out of the hospital, not because of a drug overdose, but because she had gotten into a biking accident and suffered a skull fracture, and concussion. It was good to know at least she didn't lose her sense of humor.

Yesterday after Dave's we went bowling in Cherry Hill. 15 of us drove there and Laura and Allen met us there later. First game I bowled a 138 which is pretty high for me. The next game I barely broke 100. I made a bet with two other guys and now I owe both of them ice cream. After that we had dinner at Empire Buffet. I got my money's worth I think. After that I just went home. It was cool and muggy though...but all night I was tossing and turning. It was so uncomfortable. I didn't get very good rest.

I woke up late for work today. Supposed to be there at 8am, but didn't get there until 8:20am. Kept falling asleep behind the computer. It was a pretty long day and I was glad to be back home after a little bit of grocery shopping.

Labor Day. The Phileo picnic was canceled and instead we met at Delaware Dave's place. There were a lot of people that came. We had some lunch, played some PUMP, and also played charades. At one point in the game, someone was trying to describe a book of the Bible. Not knowing which one, pastor Paul quickly said a bunch of them in order, and finally got one right. It was kind of funny. A lot of people played PUMP for the first time today. Pastor Dwight also played for the first time today and got the hang of it pretty quickly. You could see the enthusiasm he had because then he started asking for harder levels. We all laughed but we all died laughing when he started to "teach" other people how to play. It was so funny to see a beginner teaching others.
