Over a week after Spirit had received her gift, as she refered to it as, Spirit lay curled sleeping. Her wolf form took a much-needed run through the feilds, after remaining with Medianoche for so long. As it was returning, the great white dragon flew down beside the body once again. She ran faster, hoping to reach her sleeping form first. The Dragon stars loomed over head, watchfully. SpiritStar looked up to them, still running, and slowed. She could not think why, but it was as though they were telling her it was alright for those strangers to be there.

By the time she had reached her destination, the strange woman had dismounted and was trying to find a way to get to the hatchling. The white wolf came around the other way and faced her. The woman put her palms out in a sign of peace. Spirit took the gesture, and gently nudged the tiny dragon she had come to love above even life itself. He woke, and she pushed it towards the woman, who cautiously picked him up. She pulled a crystal from around her neck, and touched the hatchling with it. A white glow washed over him, and he immediately began to change. He grew almost two times larger then he had been, his scales turning black. Finally, small stars dotted across his body, like a finishing touch. Medianoche streched his new wings, his new body. The woman got back on her steed and flew off into the night.
