That night something happened that nearly frightened Spirit into violence, which was very unusual. SpiritStar's people were peaceful and gentle, often even vegetarian. While she roamed in her wolf form through the realm of dreams, never straying far from her physical self, a huge white dragon flew down from the stars and landed before her. It's wings were gigantic, far longer then several men together. From its back a strange woman stepped, her skin brown and ears slightly pointed. She carried a satchel.

Spirit growled, raising her lips to show her gleaming white fangs. An event like this was so bizarre few knew how to react, and Spirit was no different. The woman slowly stepped toward the wolf, one hand extended as if to ward off attack. She took a basket from her back and layed it next to the sleeping woman, then backed up to the dragon and flew off. Curious, a wolven attribute, she used her muzzle to push the bag open. Inside, to her surprise, was a soft blue egg much larger then any egg Spirit had seen before.

It was the same egg she had seen before, in her dreams, and now it was here. She crouched protectively over it until morning.

When Spirit awoke the blue egg was still there, along with the woven basket. She layed her hand on the egg, and instantly felt a connection with the dragon growing inside. It was very large, almost two and a half feet across, and it was an effort to put it back into the basket-pack. She pulled it onto her back, and began once again the hike to the gods' home, where she had a feeling they would want her.

"She has the egg... the nahab informed us. So it has begun." The pale young goddess informed the council of deities. "She will be here shortly. I called her, and will help speed her journey." One of the gods spoke out. "Are you certain? What if we are wrong, what if she cannot do this? We are asking much of her, even if she is from the People of the Light." The motherly goddess replied. "We have been faced with this question many times in this council. We promise to you-- Spirit is more sacred then any of you could know."

Spirit had only just begun her journey when the gods told her to sleep. This time it was not the knowledge that it was night in the rest of the world, but a different, more clear tugging, like the soft wash of moonlight alluring her to sleep. So she did, falling asleep too fast even to remove the pack containing the egg. This sleep was different, for as she arrived in the dream realm, the wolf form too slept. When she awoke she saw she was once again inside the City of the Gods.

This time she was at the front of the council, awakening before them like a sleepy child. Soon she was wide awake, however. The silvery goddess, the Sister Moon, spoke to her. "Spirit, show us the egg." Obediently she carefully opened the pack and allowed the pale blue thing to roll onto the ground. She also placed the two smaller eggs near it. "See," she called over the assortment of gods and godesses, "It is here. Soon she will be able to protect our people from the nahab as we have been so unable to do." She paused, and the motherly goddess, the Mother Earth, smiled down on her. "My darling Spirit. You are so special, and since childhood, you have stood out amongst our peoples."

There was a pause. Then Sister Moon spoke. Her voice was clear so it could be heard, but soft and loving as well. "You are quite special, as my Mother says. Your spirit takes the form of the sacred snow-wolf. Your pale skin and silver hair, as well as your unusual tribal markings, are unique only to yourself and one other person. Me." Many of the deities looked between the two. It was true, they alone had the glowing skin and white hair, and most of Spirit's tattoos were identical to Sister Moon's. "It has been confirmed, council. Spirit is one of the People of the Stars."

"That's right. SpiritStar, of the People of the Stars, is one of my own. She is my Daughter."
