DJ CRAP PICTURE

Welcome to my site. Some of you may have arrived here by accident, some out of curiosity and others by meaning to. Either way, I hope you go away a little wiser as to the world of DJ CRAP PICTURE.

Unfortunately, having been born and bred in Doncaster, Yorkshire, UK, my ears did not pick up on a lot of music that wasn't available through Our Price or HMV record shops. This led me to various magazines etc, that filled my head with bizarre band names and reviews of records I would never hear. Along the way (age about 11) I picked up on HIP HOP and immediately fell in love. I learnt to break (to "I feel for you" by Chaka Khan) winning various chocolate prizes at Working Men's Clubs Christmas parties for members children. I got into graf after spotting a piece by Kove and Jack on a cricket pavillion, and had various tags such as OPAL, KEZM, OHM, and SYKES, which I still use. This led to me being arrested with Jehst from YNR in Leeds in 1998 for bombing the train station.

I then got into DJ'ing and hooked up with Fez and Nick from Tend 2 Offend. Fez was the first person I'd met that was making tracks himself, albeit on an Amstrad 4-track. This was around 1990, when Hardnoise, Gunshot and Blade were the biggest names in UK hip hop. Rough beats were the flavour and this hasn't passed through me yet.

Vocally, I am inept. But my best friend since the age of about 5 is none other than YNR's LEXIS. After hearing his lyrics I gave up trying to write "proper" tracks and withdrew to the sanctity of more...erm..."comedy" type of hip hop. I spent a lot of time with another friend, Woody ( who under the name AM released tracks on the Vapors label and had his own label called FLAME GRILLED RECORDINGS ) and we came up with MC Rufrocka & Backpack. We did a tape only EP entitled "Shallow Anal Fisting" which I know is available on Morpheus and Grokster 'cos I put them there.

I then got hold of some audio software through another friend, Ade, who did music for Lexis as Foolz I View and who now creates the music for Wompa. Check out the aforementioned Morpheus and Grokster and see if you can find thier tracks!! With this software I started to mess about and the results are available on the filesharing programs mentioned. Please take a few minutes to check them out and add some comments on this site or email me on the link above.

Now go check the rest of the site and have a nice day!!
