My Hobbies...

For the name sake at least, I was looking for a hobby for quite sometime in my life. I tried most of the popular ones... collection of stamps and coins, traveling, gardening, cooking, etc. etc. But in vain. Nothing could interest me at any time beyond a point.

Then, two years back, I was introduced by one of my friends to the world of photography. At first sight it was very appealing. But, since I was not at all sure of sustaining my interest in it ( from my earlier experiences ;-)), I thought of trying it out with the minimum expenditure possible. So, I bought one of the cheapest 35mm SLR camera (Vivitar 3000N) with a 28-70mm zoom lens and joined the Fotoclub of IISc. But once I started experimenting with the light and shades I could not resist myself exploring more and more. Thus, finally, I found out where my interest is.

The magic of light and shade in this world around me was unnoticed till this time... I started seeing it carefully... I could see some of the most beautiful moments which I would have never noticed otherwise...

I realized that it was just a beginning. Now most of the things around me seems interesting. I like seeing the different moods of nature... watching birds... I go behind butterflies, moths and insects... I enjoy travelling... I go for cycling... I like trecking... I enjoy my trials to freeze at least some of those beautiful moments which I loved to be in...

Viewfinder taught me many other things. To love and preserve nature; to see things differently; to appreciate the moods. Sometimes I am hurt seeing an otherwise beautiful landscape spoiled completely by tones of wastes and plastics, by seeing the way we spoil the beautiful place we live in.

I feel very lucky to be in a group of fellows who share similar thoughts and tastes here in Bangalore. It includes good photographers, nature lovers, and most importantly, some real close friends.
