My lifelist - Butterflies...
Here is a list of butterflies that I have seen and identified. This is a compilation of the names (common as well as scientific) of the butterflies that I have seen, along with the location at which I identified them first - whatever I remember. Most of these butterflies are very common - in my case, most the first spottings are in IISc since I started noticing these small beautiful creatures only after coming here. Since I do not have any book on butterflies as comprehensive as the birding books available to me, many times I have faced difficulties in identifying these marvels. I have tried taking phtographs of some of them (getting good photos of butterflies depend mainly on photogrpher's luck!), of which some good ones I have displayed in my album. My most exciting moment with butterflies must be that one when I saw, for the first time, a `Southern bird wing' virtually sailing through the dense forests of Saklespura.
