The main reason, why I publish this website, was my intention to get contact to other people, who collect stamps or research their families like I do. You will find some information about these main hobbies, but also about me and my family. I am not very patient, and don t like to waite long time, until a site finally appears. So I decided to create this site with just a few photos and without a lot of graphics.
I was born in 1962 in G�ttingen, a university city not far away from Hannover. My father was army officer, and the family had to move several times, untill I passed my final examinations in Cologne. I followed the footsteps of my father and joined the army, to become an infantry officer. I became lieutenent in 1985, but was not able to lengthen my contract in 1987.
I joined the Berlin police and studied at the police college for three years. I passed the examinations with good results. Since 1991 I had several different functions in the Berlin police. I enjoyed most the three years as a platoon leader, but had also realy good times, when I leaded several police basic units.
I got married in 1990. My wife Guenay was born in Giresun at the turkish Black Sea cost and came here to Berlin, when she was 13. We have one daughter Juliana, who celebrated her confirmation at May 1st. 2005. Her most prefered hobby is horseback riding, but though our flat is not realy the right stable for a horse, it is a dog, which completes the family.
Among of the hobbies, I already told you, I love reading a good book, to hear clasical music, to smoke a pipe and to drink some wine.

Researching my family is one of my main hobbies. I research for ancestors as well as for distant cosins, descendants of my mothers family "Moser von Filseck" of the Beyer family and of the related Hammerschlag family. Part of this interest is also the site for my greatgreatgranduncle , the painter Karl Eberhard Jakob Beyer. At the site Painter Beyer you may see some of his paintings. Maybe one day I will manage, to translate the information about him, but for the moment, you may only enjoy the pictures. I collect German stamps up to 1945 mostly used, GDR, Berlin and FRG in both conditions. I have advanced collections of used Austria, Swizzerland, Sweden, Danmark, Turkey, Slowenia and France. USA, Iceland, Finland and Italy I have a lot to, but still remain a lot of gaps. The collections of Belgium, Netherlands, Spain, Croatia, Macedonia and Greece are just begun. Because of my illness I stopped exchanges!
I intended to collect all western Europe countries one day, so if you may offer stamps of another country, feel free to ask.I published my wantlists based on Michel catalog at the Stamps site. If you don t have a Michel cataloge, please ask for a describing want list. I have already some describing lists, but they are not up to date and I prefer to use the Michel based lists.
