The
new Benjamin Franklin Elementary School opened in 1976, replacing
the original school which was built in 1903. The current parking
lot/playground was the site of the original school.
Franklin
Elementary has sixteen classrooms, a gymnasium, a speech/bilingual
room, a library media center with areas where vocal music and
art are taught, a special education area, a computer lab and a
commons/cafeteria area.
The
Franklin district includes many older, mostly single family residences.
