harry and voldemort...sittin in a tree, k~i~s~s~i~n~g...whoops!! :D here are the ways harry and you~know~who have met up so far:

book 1~ after harry, ron, and hermione conquered the various enchantments protecting the sorcerer's stone, harry reached quirrell, who was frantically searching for the stone. harry was surprised to see quirrell there, but not nearly as surprised as he was when quirrel unwrapped his turban...revealing voldy on the back of his head! harry was rescued when quirrell discovered he could not touch harry with his bare hands, buying time until dumbledore arrived.

book 2~ in CoS we were introduced to tom marvolo riddle, a handsome, smart orphan boy at hogwarts 50 years earlier...who later became he~who~must~not~be~named! (clever trick~ tom marvolo riddle rearranges to 'i am lord voldemort'!) riddle appeared out of the diary he had been controlling ginny weasley with. he controlled the basilik in what seemed like a one~sided fight...until fawkes showed up with the sorting hat! fawkes healed harry's wounds and blinded the basilik, while harry recieved the sword of griffindor from the hat. harry plunged the basilik's fang into the diary, making riddle dissapear...

book 3~ PoA brought no return of voldemort (perhaps he was vacationing in majorca?!) but instead was mainly composed of fear over the escape of sirius black, you~know~who's spy...then, when harry, ron, and hermione finally met black, they discovered the real spy was not black but peter pettigrew, aka wormtail, who was then captured by the gang, black and lupin but soon escaped to return to lord voldemort...

book 4~ voldemort ran amok :D in GoF, assisted by "faithful" servant wormtail, both of whom appeared frequently in harry's dreams. harry recieved two nasty, back to back visits by the dark forces...first by voldy, wormtail & co (that sounds like a clothing store!) itself... surrounded by his death eaters again, you~know~who transformed into his former self at the height of his power. when he and harry attacked each other at the same time, voldemort's wand performed the 'prior incantem' spell, and the last 5 people he had killed came slowly out of his wand~ cedric diggory...old frank bryce...nosy bertha jorkins...and then, tall, untidy~haired james potter, followed by long~haired, young lily potter...the 'ghosts' shielded harry from voldemort, allowing him to grab cedric's body, summon the portkey, and transport to hogwarts...where he was promptly whisked away by mad~eye moody and taken to his office, where he discovered it was not really moody but barty crouch, jr, who tried to discover how harry had escaped the dark lord. harry was rescued by dumbledore, snape, and mcgonagall, who gave crouch jr to fudge, who stupidly let the dementor's kiss* the last of the crouch's...

ending the most recent harry potter adventure! what~~and who~~ will be next? we shall see!
