Finally....Viper has begun to age. I am a big fan of the classic coasters, especially the woodies, and so at first, was not really a very big fan of the Viper. It was new, it was smooth, it was just not a woodie. But here we are nearly 9 years down the road, and the Viper is finally becoming a great woodie. In a recent trip to Six Flags, I took a ride on the Viper, and found that the typicaly smooth ride is slowly disappearing, and it has become much rougher, with more squeaks and jerks and lunges, just what all woodies should have. There is still a ways to go, but she is certainly aging well, give her another 2 or 3 years and she'll be bouncing and tossing you around like you always wanted her to. This is rising up my list of favorite coasters, and definitely has the potential to one day be one of the greatest. The Viper gets better every time, and a ride on it should not be passed up.
