| BEYOND FORGETTING |
| I haven't lost you, my dear one You have not died as so they say That cherubic mien all stilled That calm November morn Shall be the image I treasure Until my dying day. Haunt me always, my loved one Waft me back to places Where we use to roam Sojourns at the beach Those rides on moonlit nights The fun we shared in places That i'll wonder nevermore. Rethinks of one immortal poet Who said, "Our love was a love That was more than love" And I once mocked in disbelief Thinking of the hyperbole Which only fools Could utter and agree. I am now a fool Who accept this poet's words Such were when you were here In the hollow of our hands Was time to our command To ebb and flow Undmindful of the passing years. How could a life so ebb that fast Encased in a frame of vigor and promise Of energy and exhurberance Of joy, of wisdom and jest For life and more life Which I thought would Flower and mellow, not to be Nipped by the jaws Of attrocious Fate. No pangs of Death Could cool thy touch No claws of cruel Fate Could deadly venom Change my faith Nor storms of circumstances Could to dulness Mar this memory. You have not died But has transpired From this abode of wrong and sin Within my heart you'll stay Enshrined like a god Worshipped and treasured Forever there. The seeds you sowed Shall flower and grace the earth Strong, stalwart, and unafraid Living up to thy name As you keep vigil over us Battling the elements In this valley of tears. Alone I wrestle with this dull despair Wishing that you were here Cursing this emptiness That gnaws and gnaws Only God knows when Shall this ainless life Last and withstand. Beyond the grave that Knows no tears Beyond the mist That bridges the gap between you and me I know you await me there To be with you On Judgement Day. Till moons shall wax And wane no more Though age shall creep And rob this youth our love shall be unchanging In life and in death To the face, the creature To me by God had been given SOMEONE who is BEYOND FORGETTING. |
