| AMOR |
| From out the gap in eternity God breathed into the grain of immortal dust A lifetime to grace the banal earth With unruffled innocence the mirage of His untainted creation. A crop of ebony curls Crowning a sleek oriental head; Almond eyes that crinkle As you babble in harmless laughter That keep reverberating in my heart Through all these lonely years Lithe and nimble niad Long-limbed in your Oriental fairness Nature has bestowed upon you such unaffected ways unmoved by the trends of passing time What storms could resist What glaciers could not thow As your lips part to release that innocent yet nystic smile. |
