If you know me well you will probably know that i'm quite fond of, and emotionally attached to my hair. Unfortunately I am unable to explain why this is as clearly it doesn't make any logical sense! I have went through many struggles for it though particularly in my school years where i was constantly forced to get it cut. This included one very large cut which was maybe the most traumatic day of my life! This "had to be done" as it was "clearly unreasonable of me" to tie my hair back in a pony-tail neatly out of the way!!

However one of my top ambitions in life since I was about 14 years old was to get dreadlocks. I have finally achived this goal. This page is a homage to the wonder that are dreadlocks.

Dreadlocks can be put in any type of hair from thick curly African (afro) hair to very thin straight Asian hair. They are just the coolest thing since intergalactic spaceships! . They're also a hairstyle with a history. However never has a hairstyle been so misunderstood (e.g. they're dirty, smelly, crawling with bugs etc). If you learn nothing else from this entire site (quite possible), learn this: Dirty greasy hair, unlike dry, clean unconditioned hair is easily combed. This is because there are few knots (tats) in it. Dreadlocks work by the organised (and sometimes unorganised) formation of knots in hair. Ergo dirty hair does not dread, and dreads which aren't regularly washed will get greasy and the knots will come out.

Below there are some pics of celebrity 'dreadheads' and links to the best sites on the net for creating dreadlocks, buying dread products, and learning about their history. Spread the Dread! Enjoy...........
