| Mom was born 6th in a family of 6 children-she had 3 big brothers (Jimmy, John and Newey) and 2 big sisters (Alyce and Eleanor). Her Mom was 38 years old when she was born. They had chickens and cows and dogs and cats growing up. She sometimes got in trouble for riding the milk cow...Her Dad was a policeman and one time JFK came to their house! They had one of the 1st TV sets in town--her eldest sister had 9 children! Music has always been a large part of Mom's life-she loves to sing and hear her children sing-she taught us many songs and we even had a little organ she used to play and let us play also. When she was still in high school she won an award for being a very fast typist. She loves to read and crochet. Mom was a very good student in school and expected no less of her children. We all learned correct English from her-we were corrected right away if we said something incorrectly and we were also all very good spellers because it was important to my Mom. My Mother is 1/4 French and 3/4 Irish-she has always been very proud of her Irish ancestry..I remember her doing the Highland Fling dancing around the house. I LOVE MY MOM VERY MUCH. |
